Apple iPhone HD: How it Leaked to the World

, Apr 19th 2010 Discuss [4]

There's no room for errors when you're working for a company -- a giant, like Apple. We all understand that. It's been known for many years, and it's only grown in intensity since the launch of the iPhone in 2007. Apple keeps their secrets, their everything close to the vest, and they've got the protocols to make sure that what they're working on stays under lock and chain until they're ready to announce it to the world. But, leaks happen. Unfortunately, for one individual, they just so happen to be the source of the biggest leak in recent memory. Read The Full Story

Apple iPhone HD to Use Custom Processor

, Apr 19th 2010 Discuss [1]

It's been hinted at before, and it's one of the least surprising things to be rumored so far, but it's still just a rumor right now, and it's about the iPhone HD. Sure enough, the rumors aren't going to slow down before that mysterious date in June, so you should probably buckle up. This time around, we've got word that Samsung has been ousted as the primary designer for the next generation iPhone's processor, with the Cupertino-based company focused on implementing their own designs. Which should sound familiar, as the A4 processor inside the iPad comes from these same origins. Read The Full Story

iPhone HD gets caught, gets teardown, deemed legit

, Apr 19th 2010 Discuss [1]

Somebody over at Apple is going to have an even worse day than they were likely already having.  After leaked photos over the weekend, the device now looking decidedly like the iPhone HD - aka Apple's fourth-gen iPhone - has shown up in the plastic, glass and metal over at Gizmodo.  Among the hardware changes are an improved main camera with flash and an added front-facing camera, a higher resolution display and some serious reworking of the internal components to fit in a 16-percent larger battery. Apple iPhone HD Leak Gets Further Identification

, Apr 18th 2010 Discuss [1]

Well, imagine that. According to Engadget, that iPhone HD/4G impromptu photoshoot in San Jose did indeed include the real deal. Well, about as real as a prototype device can be, that is. At least, that's what they've come to discern from looking over old photos (over two months old, in fact). And, sure enough, it looks like the next generation iPhone really has been sitting in front of us all along. Read The Full Story

Apple iPhone 4G Found in San Jose Bar, Images Find Their Way to the Internet

, Apr 17th 2010 Discuss [2]

The next time you're in a San Jose bar, you should start watching where you step. Because you could be the next lucky person to pick up a never before seen phone. You know, like the iPhone HD. That's exactly what happened to an unnamed person today. According to Engadget, the pictures just made it to their inbox, and, while we can't say whether or not we're convinced, these are definitely doing their best to sway our opinion. These images are definitely better than what we've seen before. Read The Full Story

Apple iPhone HD Back Covers Are Fake; We Aren’t Surprised

, Apr 16th 2010 Discuss [0]

No surprise here. Those supposed iPhone HD back covers we showed you? Yeah, they're fake. Who would've thought, right? If the all-aluminum back wasn't a dead giveaway, or the hard edges making a flat back, there was also that tricky little detail about the photos making their way through Photoshop a few times. Well, thanks to the proprietor of those mock-ups, we can definitely check them off as a great falsehood. Read The Full Story

AT&T Employees Blocked From Vacationing in June

, Apr 16th 2010 Discuss [0]

Traditionally, leading up to the Summer season means that the tech industry cools down. Not as many announcements to go 'round all year, we imagine. But that's why we have to be thankful for Apple, because at least they keep us on our toes with all sorts of things. For example, we get a glimpse into the lives of AT&T employees. Or, better yet, the lives they aren't allowed to have. Read The Full Story

Apple iPhone HD Back Cover Supposedly Leaked

, Apr 15th 2010 Discuss [3]

Let's just say that we're looking at these images with one eyebrow raised. Not only are we entirely way too skeptical of these images for our own good, they just don't look like the iPhone HD we'd expect from Apple. Yes, the Cupertino-based company has a love affair with aluminum, but that throws up questions in of itself, considering if you actually want to make a phone call, aluminum is going to make that next to impossible (and it's not like AT&T needs any more reasons to question their network). iPhone 4th-Gen LCD/digitizer leaks on video?

, Mar 29th 2010 Discuss [2]

There's something about supposedly-leaked iPhone HD components that make us instantly suspicious, so forgive us if we seem unnaturally sceptical of this purported fourth-generation iPhone display.  Spotted on a video from SmartPhoneMedia, who claim to have received the component from a "very reliable source", the display is slightly longer than the current iPhone 3GS panel but also narrower. Video after the cut Read The Full Story
