Griffin kid-friendly accessories explode upon CES 2013

This week the folks at Griffin are sure to bring on more than just a couple of their own accessories for devices of all kinds, but right at the start they've made it bright and colorful for the kids. Starting with an item as small as a pencil - the Capper Stylus, shaped like a rocket here in the first images we've got, transforms a standard pencil into a tablet-friendly stylus - how about that? Then there's a set of Kazoo iOS cases (which you see in monkey form here for the iPhone) and frog-themed headphones - needless to say, we'll be getting really cute with Griffin this year. Best Buy complains about Walmart’s iPhone 5 discount ad, loses $65K in one day

If you remember, Both Walmart and Best Buy competed in a discount war with Apple's iPhone 5, where both retailers offered steep discounts on the new smartphone. Best Buy dropped the price down to $150 for the 16GB entry-level model, while Walmart dropped it to just $127. However, it turns out that Best Buy took quite a hit on profits that day, and the company is accusing Walmart of misleading customers with their iPhone 5 discount ad. Read The Full Story

iOnRoad augmented reality navigation app promises to make you a safer driver

A new app has launched for iPhone 5 users called iOnRoad that is designed to take advantage of the new processing power in the iPhone 5 and navigation integration available on iOS 6. The app is described as a black box video recorder that promises driver assistance when on the road. The app also offers turn-by-turn navigation using an augmented reality interface. It would appear that Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White has some rather colorful ideas about what the next-generation iPhone will be appearing inside 2013. A published analysis of the future of Apple's offerings with a device likely called iPhone 5S has produced the idea that the multiple color cases of the iPod touch from 2012 have paved the way for similar offerings in the smartphone segment. This analysis also suggests that Apple will be busting out with another new screen size, this allowing the iPhone 5S to be offered at a higher price than the iPhone 5. Read The Full Story

iPad mini tipped to make a massive splash in China

We're used to hearing about Apple devices selling out here in the US, and it appears that in China things aren't much different. Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White is saying today that iPad minis are flying off shelves there, after its launch in Hong Kong on back in November and China earlier this month.
