This week we’ve had ample time to show you everything there is to know about the Android-based HTC One series in the HTC One X and the unit we’re looking at today vs the iPhone 4S: the HTC One S. The HTC One S is much more comparable to the iPhone 4S than the X is because of several simple factors: the screen size at 4.3-inches is much closer to the iPhone 4S’s 3.5-inches than the X’s massive 4.7-inches, the S has a dual-core processor like the Apple-made iPhone 4S rather than the X’s quad-core, and their overall chassis size is much more similar to one another than the X. There’s a project out there called TED Talks, one where the brightest minds our society has to offer come together and make compact speeches on amazing and earth-changing topics – and your iPad and iPhone have the ability to tap its archive with the app we’re reviewing today. TED Talks are small videos you may have come across here or there in the past few years on any number of circuits throughout the internet – Reddit, Facebook, and the like are common places for people to paste links to TED talks for friends and colleagues to easily consume. What TED offers for the iPad and the iPhone is an app which makes enjoying the whole TED archive of videos entirely simple.
The number of iOS phones being sold through AT&T and Sprint is greater than the number of Android phones on either carrier, according to Canaccord Genuity analysts. That's a figure that is pretty noteworthy considering there's essentially one iOS smartphone - the iPhone - compared to dozens of Android handsets. Or is it? By now I think everyone is familiar with Siri, the Apple virtual assistant that's only officially supported on the iPhone 4S. Siri is a virtual assistant that allows users to do all sorts of things with their voice from sending and receiving calls, to sending text messages and a lot more. A consulting group called Parks Associates surveyed 482 owners of the iPhone 4S to see what people are using Siri for.

This little piece of hardware is a fabulous wonder of the modern wireless age – and it doesn’t just work for iPhone, it works for any tiny speaker that wants to be amplified! The iFrogz Boost NearField Audio speaker is a little brick – it weights in at next to nothing, is made mostly of soft, rubbery plastic on the outside, has a few bumpers on the bottom to hold it tight to your table. This device will blast out audio at high levels without any more effort on your part than placing the speaker portion of your smartphone near the power button side of the device. It’s really quite magical – as you’ll see here in a moment.
This next generation iPhone, whatever it may end up being called by the end of the year when it will almost certainly be announced and launched, will continue the iPhone trend of having a Retina-quality display, this time at a larger 4.6-inch size. This update to the iPhone - or any size jump in the iPhone's display - has been criticized by analysts as being outright absurd due to the undeniably gigantic amount of hardware and software partners Apple has dedicated to the current size and shape of the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. South Korean media speaking with an unnamed industry source have bucked the trend of speaking on a display size the same as what's been released already, saying a boost is in order.

Auto-curating digital magazine Flipboard has begun its assault on China, with a new update adding support for social networks Sina, Weibo and Renren, along with new Chinese content. The app automatically pulls in news and articles from users' Facebook and Twitter contacts, but in a v1.8.3 update today, Flipboard introduced China-specific social network support so as to make a more convincing play for the market.

Apple’s new iPhoto app for iOS, first announced at the iPad event earlier this month, has reached over 1 million users in less than 10 days of being on the market. This is almost certainly one of the fastest selling apps in Apple’s mobile app portfolio’s history and certainly says a lot about the quality of the app itself.
