iControlPad for iPhone production parts now shipping [Updated]

Apple has just released the iOS 4.0.2 software update for the majority of their iDevices. But, unlike many other updates in the past, this one's primary focus is one thing, and one thing only: to patch up that pesky malicious PDF situation that shot up a couple weeks back. iDisk update adds streaming iPhone music support

Apple has quietly put into play a streaming music service, freeing iPhone users from the limited internal storage of their smartphones and instead allowing them to play content stored remotely in their iDisk cloud backup.  Spotted by Michael Robertson of MP3.com, the new service currently requires users to actively manage the transfer of files to the iDisk store - there's no automatic sync with iTunes, nor playlist support - and then select the files through the iPhone iDisk interface. Android market share swells 886% year-on-year in Q2 2010; RIM and Apple trail behind

Smartphone demand is up, and the winner is Android according to market analysts Canalys.  They've been tracking US and global trends, and reckon that in Q2 2010 Android sales rose 886-percent from last year (851-percent in the US), giving them the number one market share in the US with 34-percent; they're trailed, supposedly, by RIM at 32-percent of market share and Apple at 21.7-percent. Apple: despite DMCA, jailbreaking will void your warranty

After yesterday's landmark DMCA ruling, all eyes were on Apple to see how the company would respond now that jailbreaking and unlocking devices is explicitly legal.  Unsurprisingly, they're not throwing open the doors and welcoming in the iPhone Dev Team with open arms; in a statement to Cult of Mac, an unnamed Apple PR person reiterated that the Cupertino company recommends users do not jailbreak their iPhone or iPod touch, and that doing so will violate their warranty. iOS4 Bluetooth problems reported: patchy connections & shoddy audio?

How's your Bluetooth?  We didn't notice any issues with the Bluetooth performance when we reviewed the iPhone 4, but it looks like others haven't been so lucky.  Multiple complaints (see here, here, here and here) have sprung up in the Apple support forums since the release of iOS4, either for upgraded iPhone 3GS handsets or iPhone 4 units with the latest OS preloaded, with owners describing sporadic connections, an inability to play music wirelessly and poor audio quality during calls.
