Dual-booting Android/iOS iPad and iPhone 4 one step closer [Video]

, Nov 12th 2010 Discuss [4]

Apple's hardware is generally pretty well-admired; it's the company's attitude to software that rubs quite a few people the wrong way. Rosemary’s Baby: iPhone 3G and Android 2.2 Froyo Combine to Form Adobe Flash for iPhone

, Nov 9th 2010 Discuss [4]

It is truly a wish born of a ritualistic and unnatural set of events put in motion by a port of Google's Android 2.2.1 over to the iPhone 3G, allowing then Apple's IOS and Google's Android Froyo OS to have a baby named Flash on the iPhone. The entire process is basically illegal, so don't actually do it if you fear the law or have any hope for getting into Apple or Google heaven, requires that you jailbreak your iPhone. After broken, you'll need to install Cydia (not approved in any way by Apple), add a repository to Cydia, and download the package by the name "iDroid" for either your iPhone 3G or original iPhone. Apple close iOS rental transfer loophole with new iTunes T&Cs

, Oct 29th 2010 Discuss [5]

Apple has tightened its iTunes rental T&Cs, removing a loop-hole that allowed TV shows to be transferred between the iPad and other iOS devices.  The new agreement, paidContent spotted, now refers to generic "content" rather than differentiating between movies and TV shows, and basically means that anything rented from your iPhone, iPod touch, Apple TV or iPad is now only available on that device. iOS exploit bypasses iPhone lockscreen for phone, contacts & other access

, Oct 26th 2010 Discuss [0]

A security loophole in iOS 4.1 (as well as the 4.2 beta, apparently) allows unauthorized access to the iPhone's contacts, phone functionality, emails and MMS.  Spotted by MacRumors forum members, the exploit is straightforward: from the iPhone 4 lockscreen, hit "Emergency Call", type in a random number and initiate the call, and then press the sleep key as soon as the end-call button appears on-screen.  That automatically takes you to the handset's contact list. Apple has been riding high when it comes to user satisfaction surveys of late, but has it taken a hit when it comes to "cool"?  It's a pretty nebulous metric, but according to the CoolBrands Council the iPhone has been knocked off the number one spot for "cool" by Aston Martin.  The smartphone now holds second place, above the iPod at number three and BlackBerry at number four. Sonos Wireless Dock WD100 streams iPod/iPhone music

, Sep 23rd 2010 Discuss [1]

Sonos has outed the latest part of its streaming music puzzle, in the shape of the Sonos Wireless Dock WD100.  Packing an integrated Sonos wireless connection and an iPod/iPhone docking connector, the WD100 basically takes whatever music is stored on your Apple PMP and funnels it around the house. It's all Apple certified, so there shouldn't be any annoying "this accessory isn't supported" pop-ups, and it'll work with a broad range of the company's hardware: the iPod touch (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation), iPod classic, iPod nano (3rd, 4th, and 5th generation), and iPhone (original, 3G, 3GS and 4).  Sadly no iPad support, since the cradle is the wrong shape.
