iPad mini 2 thickens with case leak

iPad mini 2 thickens with case leak

There's a China Sourcing Fair going on this week with a selection of electronics and accessories, and in the masses a set of iPad cases has appeared. The iPad mini 2 (the 2nd generation iPad mini, that is) in particular has raised eyebrows as one carrier seems to have revealed the thickness of the device as slightly larger than that of the original pad. This case - like all early release cases - could be innacurate, but as they say they are working with early models, it would appear that this device could take on the same increase in size revealed with the transition between the iPad 2 and the iPad 3, with retina display.

iPad 5 anticipation high ahead of October 22nd Apple event

iPad 5 anticipation high ahead of October 22nd Apple event

There's little doubt at this point whether or not there will be an October 22nd event held by Apple that will, in turn, be the first official home for the 5th generation iPad. Seeing an original leak from AllThingsD then a simple "Yep" from the likes of The Loop's Jim Dalrymple, this event will almost certainly center on not only the newest full-sized iPad, but the 2nd generation iPad mini as well. These devices will converge on aesthetic design this time around, both appearing much more like the original iPad mini industrially than the original iPad or iPad 2.

iPad 5 internals leak makes Touch ID all the more likely

When the redesigned iPhone 5s home button flex cable first appeared with a slightly different configuration from the cable for the iPhone 5, it was suggested to have been to make way for Touch ID. Apple's Touch ID does indeed exist on the iPhone 5s - that's fingerprint sensing technology for iDevices, if you did not know - and a redesigned 5th generation iPad home button flex cable has appeared here via CTech today. The 5th generation iPad is said to be appearing in full as imminent as mid-month here in October, complete with a redesigned body to reflect the new wave with the iPad mini.
