Friday is here once again folks, and what a Friday it was. What started out as a relatively slow news day became very exciting later on, as the jury deciding the Apple and Samsung case delivered their verdict after only three days of deliberation. The verdict? Let's just say that Apple's lawyers will be having a celebration tonight. Samsung was found guilty of multiple patent infringements, and a lot of that patent infringement was found willful by the jury. To make matters worse for Samsung, the jury found that it wasn't owed any damages by Apple. Needless to say, we think there will be an appeal. Read The Full Story

Additionally, we found out that jurors deciding the case have been given various devices to help them decide who's in the right, but can't do much of anything with them. iPad Mini dock connector leaks with odd port

, Aug 15th 2012 Discuss [0]

It appears that the next-generation so-called iPad mini may have had a part leak out this afternoon with no less than a new mini dock connector attached to it. This part has been shared with NWE and "examined" by iFixit, both parties suggesting that it does indeed appear to be an official Apple device component for an unknown future tablet-sized device. What's strange about this part, however, is that it's got 10 pins in its dock rather than 8 or 16. Read The Full Story

We're back to Monday folks, but thankfully this particular Monday provided us with a lot of interesting news. Of course, Apple and Samsung's court battle is still raging on, with Samsung today claiming that Apple pressured 3G experts to change evidence. Apple detailed the icons it accuses Samsung of ripping off, while Samsung made a case for the uniqueness of its handsets up on the stand. Samsung was looking pretty decent there for a while, until an expert Apple witness took the stand to say that the iPhone and the original Galaxy S were "substantially the same." Ouch. Most importantly, today marked the beginning of the patent trail between Samsung and Apple. This morning we took a closer look at the trial and the arguments being made by both sides, while later on in the day we received word that a key witness in the case won't be showing up to testify. Apple's courtroom woes don't end at its trial with Samsung, however, as the company is also being sued over its Siri technology by a university in Taiwan. Read The Full Story
