The Apple event taking place this week on the 23rd of October has had several of its supposed presentations spilled here in advance of the date with the iPad mini and a refreshed iPad with Retina display pricing included. It's no surprise that the event will indeed be showing off the new iPad mini, but a refreshed iPad full-sized device has not been entirely clear on the radar up until now - though no confirmations have been made. Now that Apple has announced that it will hold a special event on Tuesday, just about everyone believes that the show will be used to unveil the iPad Mini. It was just about a year-and-a-half ago when Apple unveiled the iPad 2. It was crazy thinner than the first-gen iPad and had better graphics and a faster processor. Welcome to Thursday evening, everyone. This afternoon we had a bunch of quarterly reports hit, and some were better than others. Google posted its quarterly report a little prematurely, a blunder that had a hand in driving down the price of the company's stock. Later on in the day, we heard from Microsoft, which managed to do pretty good in its first quarter. Sadly, AMD posted its results for quarter 3 just a little while ago, and things aren't looking too good for the company - in fact, it says that it will have to layoff around 15% of its workforce in an attempt to save some money. This week another release list has been shown with the SKU numbers of each of what appear to be 24 different iPad mini models coming rather soon to an Apple store near you. This listing shows that there will be two different colors - white and black (A and B), four different storage capacities (8, 16, 32, and 64GB), and three different kinds of wireless internet connectivity. Today we heard that the iPad Mini could launch on November 2, which makes sense considering that date is just over a week after Apple's October 23 press event. Later in the day, more sources were mentioning a November 2 release date for the iPad Mini, as well as spilling a few more details about the long-rumored device. Apple will soon be holding a meeting with Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad (MFI) group partners to discuss the future of accessories working with their new Lightning connector. This Lightning cord and port has been integrated on the iPhone 5 already and will likely be appearing on the future set of iPad devices including the iPad mini, a tablet that's not yet been confirmed to exist by Apple but will likely appear at an October 23rd event.
