iPad 4G LTE official with 10 hour battery

This week the folks at Apple have revealed their newest iPad hardware refresh, this device having access to 4G LTE speeds. This iPad is not called the iPad 3, nor it is called the iPad HD, instead it’s just the newest device, having here the ability to work with “LTE for max of 72Mbps. It’s amazing, you’re going to love using it on these new high speed networks” as Apple’s Eddie Cue noted at the big iPad 3rd generation event. What you’ll see here is that LTE is made for many devices, but with Apple it’s all the more special – with a chart below showing how it’s made so.

iPad 3 coming March 16 with 4G LTE starting at $629, WiFi-only at $499

Apple has confirmed the launch date for the iPad 3 to be on March 16. That means in less than 10 days you’ll be able to get your hands on either a 16GB, 32GB or 64GB version of the slate. And, they’re available with or without 4G LTE, for which you’ll have to pay a little extra.

Apple details iPad 3’s new iSight camera

Apple revealed that the next-gen iPad will feature an updated iSight camera with a 5-megapixel backside illuminated sensor, 5-element lens, IR filter, and ISP built into the A5X chip. Although it’s not an 8-megapixel sensor as some might have hoped, the upgraded optics, which are similar to what’s on the iPhone 4S should provide the more than satisfying image quality. iPad HD Retina Display official

At today’s iPad event, the high definition Retina Display was first off the blocks in a set of features that make up the next generation device. This upgraded display has the 9.7-inch screen of the iPad set at 2048 x 1536 pixels, this being “for the first time an iPad has a higher resolution than even the display behind me” as Apple’s Eddie Cue noted. This display has “1 million more pixels than HDTV” Apple touted, with “264 pixels per inch in this display, and that’s enough to call it a Retina Display.”

Tim Cook had the stage first at today’s Apple (iPad 3) event speaking at first about the a “post PC revolution.” He spoke about how “Apple is at the forefront, leading this revolution,” how “the PC is no longer the center of your digital world” and how even though most companies would be “thrilled to have just one of these devices” while of course “at Apple we’re fortunate to have all three” – three being the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad.

Apple confirms Siri support for Japanese on iOS 5.1

Apple has just confirmed what we've suspected from a few leaks in the past that its Siri intelligent voice-controlled assistant will be supporting the Japanese language.
