iPad Mini shortage likely at first, warns analyst

As with all new Apple devices, we're expecting consumers to throw their money at the company once the iPad Mini goes up for pre-order later this week. Even though Apple is boosting the number of suppliers its working with to produce the iPad Mini, at least one analyst is expecting there to be a stock shortage once the new tablet launches. Better get those pre-orders in early, lest they run out fast and you end up waiting a month before Apple has more to sell.

This week the folks at Apple have revealed the iPad mini, a device that's smaller than the 4th Generation iPad and bringing with it a hand-held design. This unit brings on "not just a smaller iPad", but a totally re-vamped design - so says Apple. This unit brings on a 7.2mm body, that being 23% smaller than the iPad 3. This unit is .68 lbs as well - that's thin as a pencil and heavy as a pad of paper.

We've all heard about the much-anticipated iPad mini, which is expected to be announced tomorrow at Apple's big event. It seems the iPad 4 is also in the making, with a picture purported to be the device's lightening dock connector appearing on BGR yesterday. Now, earlier today, another two images have surfaced of a new iPad screen featuring an optically-bonded display and upgraded FaceTime camera. Whether the images belong to an upcoming iPad 4 or the anticipated iPad 3 refresh is unknown, according to BGR.
