, Jun 1st 2012 Discuss [0]

This application is of a special breed, fighting for ultimate glory in the world of Twitter-reliant software made possible only by the incessant Tweeting of millions of hyperactive text lovers. What you get here that’s different from the rest of the pack is a set of well-tuned points that makes a person like me live it above all others. The three points are also in addition to the smooth and ultimately eye-pleasing amalgamation of graphics that surround the functional interface here – and it’s all just a buck besides.

, May 24th 2012 Discuss [0]

Availability of Apple's new iPad continues to improve, with online orders in the US now seeing the shortest ever waiting period for buyers of the third-generation iOS tablet. Released to rave reviews several months ago, strong pre-sales and subsequent high demand led to a lengthy wait for those who opted to buy their new gadget from Apple's web store. However, online orders of the Apple tablet in the US are now expected to ship in 1-3 business days, down from the 3-5 day delay earlier this month. , May 16th 2012 Discuss [0]

With the Summer season upon us, it’s the mobile world that we once again look to for the most surprises, especially from Apple with it’s upcoming iPhone 5, it being a “full refresh” season for the smartphone maker. Apple has for the past several years created a complete refresh of an iPhone, then an “S” version, then a complete refresh once more, this resulting in last year’s iPhone 4S and this year’s big jump into the future: the iPhone 5. What we’re hearing this week is that the production of this next-level smartphone will start with its displays, with orders already placed, so says the WSJ, for a 4-inch screen which will start to roll out this June.

Apple still faces Aussie iPad trial despite 4G rebrand

, May 15th 2012 Discuss [0]

Apple's decision to rebrand the new iPad as the "iPad WiFi + Cellular" and drop the allegedly confusing 4G reference will not save it from a court appearance with the Australian consumer rights watchdog. "Any move by Apple to cease using the descriptor of '4G' will mitigate against the ACCC's concerns but will not deal with any past conduct" a spokesperson for the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) told SmartHouse, insisting that "the proceedings brought by the ACCC are continuing." Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 vs iPad = no contest

, May 14th 2012 Discuss [0]

The differences between the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and the iPad (1, 2, and 3 for that matter) are immense – though I’m sure the title of this post will evoke a litany of different interpretations from readers here today. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is the next-generation tablet from Samsung to come with their own suite of Samsung-tuned applications, while the iPad is the best selling tablet-like device of all time as well as one of the best selling devices of all time, bar none. Samsung didn’t create the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to compete with the iPad, but the inevitable question that pops up in the mind of everyone considering a new tablet purchase does end up being that almost no matter what: do I want this, or do I want an iPad instead?

Apple rebrands iPad 4G after LTE furore

, May 13th 2012 Discuss [0]

Apple has quietly rebranded its new iPad WiFi + 4G in response to continued pressure from regulators concerned that buyers were being misled over the data speeds the third-gen tablet could achieve. The tablet, now know as the new iPad WiFi + Cellular, was capable of connecting to LTE networks from Verizon and AT&T in the US, but incompatible with 4G networks elsewhere in the world. Apple had faced increasing scrutiny in Australia, the UK and elsewhere over whether its branding was confusing and potentially misinforming would-be tableteers as to what their new gadget was capable of.

Apple is believed to have offered $16m to Chinese firm Proview to finally secure use of the iPad trademark in China, but the ailing company is reportedly holding out for a huge $400m settlement. Although Apple confirmed it had made an offer to Proview earlier this week, it declined to specify what sums were discussed; according to sources familiar with the negotiations speaking to Chinese site Sina, however, Proview has been forced to demand far more than Apple is willing to offer, as its creditors ratchet up the pressure.
