iPad mini “confirmed” by Samsung official

iPad mini “confirmed” by Samsung official

An anonymous Samsung official has been quoted this week as confirming a next generation iPad coming from Apple this year. This new iPad will have a display smaller than the current model iPad and larger than the iPhone and iPod Touch, this leading analysts to call it "iPad Mini" in the interim. This news came amid assurances from Samsung that they were sending out record amounts of iPad and iPhone components in this year's mobile-minded market.

iPad shakes up Corporate Market says ChangeWave

The folks at ChangeWave have been doing analysis of the corporate world as it interacts with Apple's iPad over the past 12+ months, finding that this newest model slate has the strongest appeal yet for businesses looking to upgrade their employees. Of the 1,604 businesses surveyed by ChangeWave Research, 22% expect to buy tablets for their employees, with 84% of those businesses saying they're planning on purchasing the iPad specifically. This number is up from 77% looking to buy iPads (again inside that selection of businesses that plan on buying tablets) just this past November.

iPad poll shows buyers desire Wi-fi only

iPad poll shows buyers desire Wi-fi only

This season's iPad model, announced just last week, has the whole mobile world on its toes asking first if the upgrade is worth the cash, then if it makes sense to spend on one of the most impressive new features: 4G LTE connectivity. This newest model iPad 3rd generation, which we had hands-on time with at the reveal event, is the first to feature such connection speeds, and its vastly improved display and upgraded processor certainly aren't specifications to scoff at. Because of this, we've been running a poll of you, the readers, and how many of you plan on buying a new iPad, be it Wi-fi only or 4G, iPad 2 or keep your old tablet, or if, believe it or not, you've got a whole different tablet on your mind - or don't want one at all!

Apple tipped at 1M iPad 3 units sold 1st day

Apple tipped at 1M iPad 3 units sold 1st day

The day is coming soon when the new iPad will be released for the 2012 season, and analysts are racking up their abacuses to the tune of 1 million units sold. This number would exceed sales numbers of the first day of the original iPad, and would likely break the record set by the iPad 2 - though specific sales numbers have never been released for that unit by Apple. The iPad 2 was estimated to have sold 500,000 units over the weekend last year (sales starting on a Friday just like this new unit) with some analysts saying that number did reach 1 million as well.

iPad 3′s miraculous battery: the real game changer

iPad 3′s miraculous battery: the real game changer

The 2012 version of the iPad has a gigantic battery in it, capable of keeping its fabulous new features in check enough to keep the same battery life as the iPad 2. For those of you that've used the iPad 2, you know that this is a feat in and of itself since the iPad 2 is capable of staying powered up for an inordinate amount of time - much longer than the 10 hours it's rated for. What's doubly amazing, and what we're about to discuss below, is the fact that the newest generation iPad not only has a battery that has essentially 40% more power with basically the same physical size.

Stop crying about the iPad naming conventions

Stop crying about the iPad naming conventions

The 3rd generation iPad does not have a new name, but neither does the new MacBook Pro, the Apple TV, or the iMac - go home and cry about it. So called "experts" have been weighing in so heavily over the past 24 hours over the "mistake" made by those responsible for naming the newest iPad that you'd think they were stock owners in the company, all of this saying only one thing to your humble narrator: they're mad that they can't pigeonhole the product as easily as they could before. What I'm contending here is that not only does it make perfect sense that Apple cut out the numbering system from the newest model iPad in this generation, they should have done it right from the start.
