This week app developer Steven Troughton-Smith has one-upped his comment-less release of a set of what very much appeared to be iOS in the Car screenshots with a full-on demonstration video. Here you'll see the developer showing off the functionality of iOS in the Car with a video that's emulated the functionality in a developer window on a desktop. This functionality is already built-in with iOS 7.0.3 but is not accessible by default.

Apple iOS 7 fix for random iPhone reboots in pipeline

Apple is readying a firmware update for iOS 7 which the company says will address unexpected reboots that users of the iPhone have reported in considerable numbers since the latest smartphone OS version was released. The glitch, colloquially known as the "white/black screen of death", affects iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5 users, among others, with the smartphone suddenly freezing and then performing a soft-reboot.

iOS 7 upgrade rate now over 70% as KitKat sidles into Android OS stats

Apple's iOS 7 continues to outpace iOS 6 in terms of device upgrades, new research has indicated, with more than 70-percent of devices in North America now running the latest platform, as Android 4.4 KitKat makes its tentative first appearance in the Google breakdown charts. iPhone users have been a little more keen to update than their iPad counterparts (74.1-percent versus 63.8-percent) according to Chitika, with the prediction that iOS 7 will "continue to substantially outpace iOS 6 adoption" moving forward.

Apple Touch ID working with trackpad and display in patents

If you felt like the Apple Touch ID sensor in the iPhone 5s wasn't enough, that you'd like so much security in your Apple products that it's easier to get locked out than get in, you're in luck. There's a set of patent applications out there this week that show how Apple's Touch ID system could work with touchpad and display abilities in the near future. With these systems in place, Apple would be looking to incorporate multiple pieces of hardware and/or multiple use-cases of the hardware already in place into the secure system they've started with the phone.

Honda 2014 Civic first to iOS 7 mirroring with Siri update in the works

The folks at Honda have made it known that they’ll be first off the blocks in the 2014 Civic with full iOS mirroring for iOS 7. This push will begin on the 4th of December, and will include full touch-friendly integration with the vehicle’s 7-inch touchscreen on its center console. The features here will be launched with the 2014 Civic Coupe right out the gate when it goes on sale next month.
