Apple has introduced the A6 chip for their next-generation iPhone 5 hardware this afternoon at the event which also showed off several more impressive bits of hardware and software enhancements. The iPhone 5's A6 chip has been touted as having 2x faster CPU performance than the previous chip and brings on 2x the graphics performance as well. With less than two hours left before the big iPhone 5 Apple event [tune in to our liveblog], several bits and pieces have leaked including what very much appears to be the logic board from the device, complete with components. This piece of hardware is set to include the motor and the radio, both a brand new A6 chip and a bit of Qualcomm hardware to back up 4G LTE connectivity. This week there's been some reports from Apple staff members - all anonymous, of course - noting that they're staffing up for the morning of September 14th, likely for iPhone 5 pre-orders. This information comes from MacRumors where they've heard from trusted sources that pre-orders may not be starting on the same day as the Apple iPhone 5 event, that being the 12th - tomorrow. iPhone 5 called “biggest upgrade in consumer electronics history”

If you were looking to get pumped up about how gigantic the launch of the upcoming iPhone 5 device was going to be and you've got stock in Apple, you'll be glad to hear what Topeka Capital analyst Brian White has to say this week. With what's easily the highest target for APPL stock in the analyst universe, White has gone what Forbes calls "uber-bull" with $1,111 USD for what he says will likely be the "biggest upgrade in consumer electronics history." Several photos have appeared in the wild this morning showing off what very much appears to be the rumored iPhone 5 dock connector USB cable. This cable's head is compared to a microUSB cable head, the most common cable head in the mobile device industry today. These cables have been shown to be significantly similar - so much so that we'll certainly be grabbing twice in our barrel of cords once this new head appears, that's for certain. iPhone 5 (N42) model appears with 4S price points

This week a tip has appeared noting several details on the next-generation iPhone, specifically on its price - that being the same as the iPhone 4S is now - and the model number. This iPhone 5, as it's currently being called, has been tipped to 9to5mac as being part of the iPhone N42 model line, this being the generation that does not work with NFC - this is in contrast the N41 model being tested earlier this year which has not made it to final production. iPad mini backplate appears in HD photos

The next-generation iPad mini, a device tipped to work with what's essentially iPad 2 specifications save it's smaller display, has appeared in several high-definition photos this week. The device appears here from Tech163 as a slightly more blunt version of the larger iPad 3rd generation device on the market today, including here a new dock connector hole and two sets of machine-drilled speaker holes. On the 12th of this month we're almost certainly going to be seeing the next-generation iPhone 5, a device that today has been tipped to be appearing in Apple stores on the 21st of September (just a couple weeks from now). This tip comes from GottaBeMobile where they've got a trusted source speaking on the subject making it clear that pre-order shipments will be made on the 21st of the month but that in-store deliveries might be made later on.
