Samsung’s Windows 8 range was a surprise addition to the IFA 2012 line-up, kicking off with the ATIV smart PC. A hybrid tablet/notebook following in ASUS’ Transformer footsteps by pairing a slate “brains” section with a detachable keyboard dock, the ATIV Smart PC runs Windows 8 and impressively promises up to 13.5hrs of battery life. We grabbed some hands-on time.

An update to your Samsung Galaxy S III and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 are right around the corner in the form of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean - so says Samsung. It's at IFA 2012 that the company made the announcement that the software would be hitting both devices "very soon" as it were, with the Samsung Galaxy Note II having been announced earlier in the event they spoke at as coming with Jelly Bean right out of the box. Samsung comments on Apple “hindrance” at IFA 2012

In Berlin amongst the massive avalanche of product announcements from the company, Samsung's CEO spoke up about how their legal battles with Apple are affecting their bottom line. The CEO simply let it be known that "Regardless of any hindrance, we will continue to provide the best product in the industry". Samsung Galaxy Camera official: Android-powered 16MP point-and-shoot

Samsung has revealed its Galaxy Camera, an Android 4.1 powered 3G/4G toting camera with onboard editing, social sharing and a huge 21x optical zoom. Revealed at IFA 2012, the Samsung Galaxy Camera brings a 16-megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS paired with a 23mm wide-angle lens and a Smart Pro system that helps entry-level users get the sort of photos usually reserved for those with years of experience and DSLRs. Then, they can be edited and uploaded to social networking sites like Facebook and Google+, all from the camera itself.

Epic and NVIDIA announce Unreal Engine 3 for Windows 8 and Windows RT

Epic and NVIDIA announced at IFA today that they've teamed up to bring Unreal Engine 3 to Windows 8 and Windows RT. The announcement was made during the ASUS Vivo Tab RT press conference earlier this morning, and we were given a demo of Unreal Engine 3 running on the device, which comes complete with a Tegra 3 processor.
