Intel’s 15nm Atom plans previewed

Intel's tiny chip ambitions have been revealed, thanks to a roadmap forecast slide the company prepared for IDF 2010 this past week.  According to the image, Intel are looking ahead to CPUs as small as 15nm; it's unclear from the slide, though, whether the number of processor icons indicate product ranges, number of cores or just general potency.

Dell Inspiron DUO flipping tablet/netbook wows at IDF 2010 [Video]

Dell has surprised here at IDF 2010 by previewing their upcoming Inspiron DUO tablet/netbook hybrid device, with a rotating touchscreen display.  Details on the tablet are in short supply, but Dell did reveal that it runs Windows 7 Premium.  Normally the display is on the outside of the netbook lid, allowing it to be used as a slate, but when the lid is opened the screen rotates inward so as to be visible as a regular notebook.

Windows Media Center Embedded gets Acer Smart TV STB demo; Intel CE4200 unveiled

Intel may just have got its Atom CE4100 SoC into the Boxee Box, among other STBs, but they're not resting on their laurels; the company has just announced the new Intel Atom CE4200 SoC, the successor to the CE4100.  Meanwhile Microsoft and Acer have taken to the IFD 2010 stage to show off Windows Media Center Embedded, a combination of the existing Windows Embedded Standard 7 and the software company's existing Media Center variant.
