ARCHOS 97 carbon tablet first to hit Elements lineup

THis week ARCHOS has busted forth with a new series of Android tablets going by the name ARCHOS Elements, the first of these to be called ARCHOS 97 carbon. This device is one of several ELEMENTS tablets, it using a lovely 9.7-inch IPS LCD display while future tablets in the lineup grab 7 and 8-inch screens. Ice Cream Sandwich breaks 10% Android installs (just as Jelly Bean arrives)

Android Ice Cream Sandwich has finally broken the 10-percent barrier for active installs, meaning 1-in-10 Android devices run the OS which has, ironically, just been superseded by Jelly Bean. Android 4.x installs are to be found on 10.9-percent of Google Play-accessing devices, according to the latest batch of platform break-down stats, though Gingerbread still dominates the market. HBO Go app gets Android tablet support

HBO has updated its popular streaming video app for Android tablets up to version 4.0.4. Previously, it was only available for Android smartphones and the Kindle Fire, among other non-Android devices. HBO Go allows users to watch their favorite HBO shows on demand on devices ranging from tablets to TVs. The service also includes movies that have been licensed to HBO. Read The Full Story

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III hits stores on the 6th

This week we'll be seeing no less than the AT&T 4G LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S III hit stores live and in person. This device has a 4.8-inch 306ppi resolution display, under the hood you've got a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, and in the back you've got NFC with several Samsung applications and functionalities to make use of it. DROID Incredible 4G LTE unboxing and hands-on

HTC Incredible S ICS update rolling out now

Back in May, HTC published a long list of handsets that would be receiving an update to Ice Cream Sandwich, the Incredible S includes among them. According to reports the ICS update is now rolling out for the mid-range handset of old, arriving just in time to hit HTC’s own July timeline. Adobe: No Jelly Bean Flash, Flash Player pulled altogether August 15

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean devices will not get official Flash support, Adobe has confirmed, with the company pulling Flash from the Google Play store altogether after August 15. The decision, which follows Adobe's move to adopt HTML5 for mobile platforms rather than Flash last year, also means that updates to Flash Mobile on Android devices will become more sporadic. Google Nexus Q brings media streaming to the home for $299

Google say it’s a social streamer that’ll hook up to your speakers and television and pipe content from the cloud, sporting a very cool design to boot. Less than 24 hours before the biggest Google developer event of the year, Google I/O 2012, over at the Googleplex the newest Android software version has been revealed: Jelly Bean. Just as suspected due to leaks, tips, and the fact that each of the treats thus far have been alphabetically inserted, Jelly Bean will come right after the update that’s live now: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now we’ve just got to figure out what version number this treat corresponds with, and of course what the actual software updates will be.

AT&T Galaxy S II Android 4.0 update squeezes out just before Google I/O

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II owners can finally have a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich, the carrier has confirmed, with the 4.0 update dropping just ahead of Google I/O. Verizon DROID RAZR Ice Cream Sandwich update goes live from today

Verizon has confirmed that the DROID RAZR updates to Ice Cream Sandwich are due to begin rolling out today, while two models will also have global roaming enabled.
