iBuyPower has announced a new gaming desktop that has some really cool features that make it well suited to the gaming enthusiast looking to get all the performance they can out of their gaming rig called the Erebus. The machine is made for overclockers that like to tweak and comes packed with liquid cooling and a lot more. The performance of the liquid cooling system inside the finned chassis is very impressive; iBuyPower claims that the system can dissipate 3400W of heat.

That liquid cooling system has three dual 120mm fan radiators and a single quad 120mm fan radiator in some versions. The tubing used to plumb the system is wrapped in springy looking wire to prevent kinks and has a 13mm diameter to allow for higher liquid flow. There are a number of configurations that the gamer can start with and the machine can be completely customized as well. The entry-level price point of the Erebus starts at $1249 with a Core i5-2400 processor, single NVIDIA GTX 550Ti video card, 500GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.

The most feature packed system checks in at a wallet busting $6899 and it is packed with hardware. That machine uses an Intel Core i7-990X Extreme processor, the full 6x120mm liquid cooling system, 12GB of RAM, dual 96GB SSDs, 2TB main storage, and a Blu-ray player. Graphics in that high-end version are via three NVIDIA GTX 580 Superclocked video cards.

Walmart may not be the first place you think of stopping by when you need a new gaming PC, but iBUYPOWER is hoping to change that. The manufacturer has made a name for itself for high-powered, generally overclocked desktops, and now those computers are also available through Walmart’s online store.

Systems can be configured with a choice of AMD Athlon X6 645, AMD Phenom II X4 840 or X6 1075T, Intel Core i5-2500K or Intel Core i7-2600K processors, along with various AMD or NVIDIA graphics cards. RAM is up to 8GB while storage is up to 2TB, and there are various optical drives and cases to pick between.

Unfortunately this doesn’t mean you can head down to your local bricks & mortar Walmart and sign up for an iBUYPOWER PC, but perhaps if online sales are strong enough then it’s something they’ll consider branching out to. The Walmart iBUYPOWER gaming PC range kicks off at $578.

With AMD launching the new Radeon HD 6990 and laying claim to the title of world’s fastest video card you know that lots of gaming computers running the new video card are inbound. iBUYPOWER has announced that it is now cramming the powerful AMD video card inside its gaming rigs and you can run over and customize one with the new card right now.

The video card is a gamers dream and if you have a bunch of screens, you can run the card with up to six displays connected to a 3×2 landscape setting. That would make for some immersive gaming. The video card supports the AMD PowerTune feature for overclocking with ease. The card also supports real-time workload management as well.

The new HD 6990 isn’t a cheap upgrade though it will add over $400 to the base price of the gaming rig you choose and fully optioned gaming PCs can run well over $2500. “Delivering exceptional graphics is vital to our gaming customers,” said Darren Su, Vice President of iBUYPOWER. “The AMD Radeon 6990 cards are the fastest ever and allow us to offer smooth, crystal clear graphics on a larger scale than ever before.”

iBUYPOWER is a company that has all sorts of computer systems that it sells. The machines run from entry-level rigs up to fully optioned gaming machines that cost a fortune. iBP announced today that shoppers looking to get a new computer can now get some of the gaming rigs with the new NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti video card that debuted yesterday.

The new video card can be added as an option to the popular LAN Warrior II, Paladin XLC, and Level 10 gaming machines. I am a big fan of that Level 10 gaming rig, which is one of the coolest cases ever and looks very futuristic. It reminds me of a personal computer that would have been found in Atlantis on Stargate: Atlantis.

The GTX 560 Ti is an impressive video card on its own and doesn’t cost too much. The card has a MSRP of $250 and promises to deliver some very impressive performance in DX 11 games and older DX 10 and 9 titles as well. The card is a good choice for the gamer on a budget.

iBUYPOWER is a familiar name around here, and when they keep launching cool things like this, we’re not surprised. This time around it’s not a piece of excellent PC gaming hardware, but more on the software side of things. The company has just announced that MAGIC is available for all of their multitouch-capable gaming rigs. What is MAGIC? Well, follow after the break to find out.

Multitouch Advanced Gaming Interface and Control (MAGIC). It’s iBUYPOWER’s proprietary multitouch software, which was specifically designed to work in conjunction with iBUYPOWER’s multitouch gaming notebooks. The idea is that if you install this software on your multitouch notebook, you’ll be able to play any game with the technology. Which, as you’d expect, means that the games open a lot of new doors for the experience.

It works by allowing MAGIC to link a multitouch gesture to a specific command. You’ll be emulating mouse-clicks and keyboard strokes just by a simple gesture with this software, which should make plenty of gamers out there happy with the options. Plus, just doing a few strokes with your finger, as opposed to clicking a key, may not be the quickest implementation, but at least it’s awesome to watch and do.

“Multi touch is one of the fastest growing PC gaming interfaces,” said Darren Su, Executive Vice President of iBUYPOWER. “Our motivation behind creating the Multi-touch Advanced Gaming Interface and Control—MAGIC—is to instantly expand compatibility of multi-touch interfaces to nearly every application you can imagine.”

Press Release:

El Monte, CA – July 1, 2010 – iBUYPOWER, three-time winner of Intel’s Most Innovative Desktop Solution award, is excited to announce the Multi-touch Advanced Gaming Interface and Control (MAGIC), proprietary multi-touch software designed exclusively for use with iBUYPOWER’s line of multi-touch gaming notebooks. Developed in the iBUYPOWER Labs, MAGIC software allows users to play any game with multi-touch, creating a unique and completely customizable gaming experience.

MAGIC links a multi-touch gesture to a command the game already understands, emulating multitouch commands by mapping keystrokes or mouse clicks. Gamers simply create a customizable profile for each game assigning Tap, Pan (Drag), Rotate, and 2 Finger Tap actions to existing game commands.

MAGIC Software is available for free download on http://www.ibuypower.com/magic/download.aspx and is usable with iBUYPOWER’s newest multi-touch gaming notebook, the Battalion Touch CZ-11. The cutting edge notebook features an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, a DirectX 11 compatible ATI Radeon HD 5650 graphics card, up to 8GB DDR3 Memory and a breathtaking 15.6 inch LCD with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. The Battalion CZ-11 is available for customization now starting at $1,249exclusively at www.ibuypower.com.

We all know that the SSD has many benefits when compared to a traditional HDD. One of those benefits is speed. You get faster boot times and your apps load faster from a SSD. Another big benefit from a SSD is longer battery life, but the SSD is also much more robust than a HDD.

It’s common when a notebook is dropped for the machine itself to survive the fall, but the traditional HDD inside can be damaged rendering any data on the drive inaccessible. iBUYPOWER has put a corny video up on YouTube to prove how strong the Intel SSDs it offers as options are.

The notebook was dropped from about waist height to start with and the machine and SSD were fine afterwards. Not satisfied, the guys went to the roof and dropped the notebook onto its edge from a single story up. The notebook was seriously killed. The SSD on the other hand worked just fine in a desktop docking station. Check out the YouTube video below.

The machines are available in a bunch of different price ranges with all the hardware that a gamer would want regardless of if they prefer Intel or AMD based machines.

The company has announced a new gaming PC called the LAN Warrior II that is designed for the gamer who likes to go to LAN parties and wants a more compact gaming PC that is luggable and still wants performance. The rig is crammed inside the new NZXT Vulcan micro ATX chassis with a carry handle. The case itself is 40% smaller than full tower cases.

Pricing for the machine starts at $999 and it uses a variety of Intel Core i7 CPUs, up to 24GB of RAM, and can have dual high-end ATI or NVIDIA video cards. The machine comes with a robust air cooling system with multiple fans and a liquid cooling option is coming soon.

I haven’t purchased a desktop computer in years; I like to build my own. One of the things I don’t really do a good job of is routing the wires that I don’t use inside the machine. My routing job usually consists of cramming the extra wires into the vacant 5.25-inch bays in the front of the computer.

If you aren’t the roll your own type, iBUYPOWER has a bunch of different desktop computers designed to suit different needs from gaming to media use. The company has announced that it is now offering a professional wiring upgrade that makes the inside of your rig look as good as the outside with wire routing.

Routing of the wires is important for cooling, but on PCs with side windows wire routing also makes the machine look better as well. The company uses individual sleeves on the 24-pin system power plug, 8-pin CPU power, and SATA power connectors for an extra $19. That is actually very cheap.

Both the Phenom II X6 1055T and 1090T are on offer – the latter being standard fit on the Killer Chimera 2-Q, from $1,639 – paired with various single and dual graphics cards from ATI. As we saw from reviews earlier today, the new AMD hexacores may pale in comparison to Intel’s Core i7 hexacore when it comes to raw performance, but they’re also considerably cheaper meaning you get a decent overall system for a relatively wallet-friendly price.

As well as gaming, iBUYPOWER reckon the updated PCs would be particularly well suited to multimedia editing; that’s because the six-core CPUs unsurprisingly handle multi-threaded apps particularly well. They’re all available to configure online now.

Whether a multitouch display will actually help you with your gaming is open to debate, but we won’t argue with the Touch CZ-11′s specs in general. As well as a 500GB hard-drive and optional Blu ray, there’s 4GB of RAM and WiFi b/g/n, together with a DVD burner as standard.

OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. The iBUYPOWER Battalion Touch CZ-11 range kicks off at $1,100, but expect to pay upward of $1,299 if you want a decent gaming configuration with the Intel Core i7-720QM CPU.

With the arrival of Intel’s Core i7-980X hexacore processor, we’re told we can expect even greater extremes of performance; several gaming and workstation manufacturers have already announced new models using the desktop CPU. Custom desktop builder iBuyPower sent over their latest machine, the Paladin F Series Desktop, pairing the i7-980X with dual ATI graphics and liquid-cooling. Could this be the fastest desktop we’ve ever tested? Read on for the full SlashGear review.

Since iBuyPower allow customization on pretty much every aspect of their machines, you can take the spec list with a pinch of salt; it’s configurable depending on your intentions and budget. Our review unit had the 3.33GHz Intel Core i7-980X processor, 6GB of DDR3-1600 memory, a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 motherboard using Intel’s X58 chipset and, among other things, two USB 3.0 ports, and two ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics cards set up in ATI CrossFire configuration. Asetek 550LC liquid-cooling keeps everything cool and quiet, and there are two drives: a 40GB Intel X25-V SSD for the OS – in this case Windows 7 Home Premium – and a 1.5TB Seagate SATA 7,200rpm hard-drive for data. A 1,000W PSU, both Blu-ray and DVD drives, and a distinctive Coolermaster HAF 922 case round things out, and iBP Labs Level 2 Powerdrive Overclocking service means the Paladin F is already kicking above its weight when it leaves the factory.

Intel’s Core i7-980X Extreme processor is the company’s latest flagship, built on 32nm processors like previous Core i7 chips but packing six cores each running at 3.33GHz. The processor also has more L3 cache than earlier versions – 12MB versus 8MB – and boosted QuickPath Interconnect speed, at up to 6.4 Gt/s; Intel have made better use of that cache, too, thanks to Advanced Smart Cache which can dynamically allocate the memory depending on each core’s workload. Finally you get Hyper Threading and Turbo Boost.

Meanwhile AMD’s ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics card has already carved a niche for itself among gamers, and with good reason. Built on 40nm processes, each card – the Paladin F has two, remember – has an 850MHz core clock speed, 1,600 stream processors and 153.6GBps memory bandwidth. Each card has two DVI ports, an HDMI and a DisplayPort connector, and is capable of 2560 x 1600 maximum resolution.

As you might expect, that sort of specification adds up to superlative performance, and our benchmarking certainly didn’t disappoint. We started off with Windows 7′s own “Experience Index”, which assesses key components on a scale of 1.0 to 7.9. The iBuyPower PC scored 7.3 overall, only held back by its primary hard-drive data transfer rate; it scored 7.8 each for processor, memory, graphics and gaming graphics.

We then moved on to Geekbench, a synthetic test of processor and memory performance, and the iBuyPower system came back with a whopping 15,710 points. Contrast that with Apple’s Mac Pro – a system we’re still awaiting a Core i7-980X update for – the dual-CPU configuration of which we benchmarked seven months ago. Running two 2.66GHz quadcore Intel Xeon processors, the Apple desktop scored 9502 in comparison.

Finally we loaded up PCMark, often used to give more of an insight into how a system will perform in various tasks such as gaming, productivity and entertainment. The iBuyPower scored 19,174 PCMarks overall, with a huge 24,629 in the Gaming Suite category.

If it wasn’t already clear, Intel’s CPU – with the help of a well configured system – has no shortage of power. Users demanding the very highest frame-rates in today’s games, as well as the overhead to handle whatever titles are on the horizon, should frankly look no further. Throw into the mixture the ability to overclock the Core i7-980X to over 4GHz – we’ve seen at least one system builder offering a factory overclock of up to 4.4GHz – and the ambitious PC owner unafraid to tinker with BIOS settings could readily squeeze out even more performance.

The downside is, of course, price. A system using the same core components as our review unit – the CPU, memory, motherboard, dual graphics cards, SSD/HDD combo and PSU – comes in at over $3,000; with the bells & whistles iBuyPower added to our system you’re looking at more like $3,299. Is it worth the price? For everyday users, everyday gamers, everyday video editors… no, perhaps not; for a considerable reduction in price you can have a merely moderate drop in performance. Meanwhile the hexacore processor is to be just the first of a range of chips, and costs will inevitably fall over the coming months.

Still, the people considering the iBuyPower system are doing more than balancing sticker price with functionality, and if you have to have the fastest performing PC right now then you need to have Intel’s Core i7-980X inside. What most users will be asking the iBuyPower system to do won’t probably touch the edges of its capabilities, but that doesn’t undermine the fact that this is an incredible PC.

We’ve got to hand it to iBUYPOWER. They know how to release the computer that just look fun to use. The Paladin series, announced today, is no difference. This is one of those products that we just want to touch. Sure, it doesn’t hurt that the innards of these things make us want to actually use them. The company has officially announced the latest in their Paladin series, and these are definitely a chip off the old block.

Each of the four different variations of the Paladin are issued with the new Intel Core i7 980X Extreme Edition Processor, which makes the system quite the healthy benchmark demolisher. As the press release reads, the new systems are “extremely overclockable, and allow unmatched multitasking capability.” We just love the word overclockable. It’s unique. In any event, iBUYPOWER is banking on the fact that gamers won’t have to worry about how many windows/browsers they have open anymore, let alone if they’re listening to their favorite music or using GameSpeak, due to their machine’s power.

The Paladin F950, F970, and XLC V3 are all equipped with 12GB of DDR3 memory, provide at least 1 TB of storage, and have Blu-Ray Disc players. They all also keep with the liquid-cooling tradition of iBUYPOWER, and offer the “upgrade” for free. Graphics wise, you can choose from an ATI Radeon card, or go with the NVIDIA GeForce variation if you wish. The F970 and XLC V3 are packed with an 80GB Solid State Drive (SSD) and have been upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. If you’ve got $2,159 lying around, then you can start shopping now at iBUYPOWER’s website to pick out your favorite piece. Full press release just below.

El Monte, CA – March 18, 2010 – iBUYPOWER, a leading innovator of gaming PCs, is excited to announce four new Paladin gaming systems all powered by the new Intel Core i7 980X Extreme Edition Processor. The new 6 core processors are extremely overclockable, deliver benchmark shattering performance and allow unmatched multitasking capability. Gamers need not be concerned with having multiple browsers open, team speak, or MP3s files playing while gaming due to the new processor’s revolutionary hyper-threading technology.

The four new configurations all feature the finest components available, including the newest ATI Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce high-definition video cards, which all support DirectX 11 graphics. The Paladin F950, F970 and XLC V3 all pack 12GB of DDR3 Memory, provide at least a 1 TB of storage space and a Blu-ray drive. The fully loaded F970 and XLC V3 also come standard with an 80GB solid state drive and have been upgraded to Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate. Additionally, like all iBUYPOWER desktop systems, the newest Paladin model all feature free liquid CPU cooling.

Gamers looking to get the most out of their new six core systems can take advantage of the iBUYPOWER Labs’ Power Drive Overclocking Service, which overclocks the CPU by as much as 30% and comes standard on the Paladin XLC V3. Other innovative iBUYPOWER exclusive products and services include the Harmony Sound Reduction System, the Internal USB Expansion System, and iBUYPOWER’s Specialized Advanced Packaging System with expanding foam inserts to prevent damage during shipping.

The new Paladin systems start at $2,159 and are available now at www.iBUYPOWER.com.

Customers with more specific gaming needs can configure a fully customizable system at www.iBUYPOWER.com. All iBUYPOWER systems also come standard with 1 year limited warranty and lifetime technical support.

iBuyPower surely didn’t expect a name could really be so, well, striking. One of the brave reviewers at Laptop Magazine has been left a nasty cut by the company’s Battalion laptop, (the Touch CZ-10), due to the peeling off of the computer’s sharp-edged aluminum logo.

iBuyPower claims that fewer than 1 percent of recently shipped systems use the same labeling, and after some investigation, it has since ended the practice of using the aluminum logo in favor of a plate-style label with rounded edges. Perhaps a name change too?

Seeing that the Battalion would have left you a grand lighter, there’s no point in getting a second, physical cut (only this time not your wallet). If you already own one, go ahead and contact iBuyPower support for a less-dangerous logo.

What could make the stonking Thermaltake Level 10 PC case any better? How about a custom liquid-cooling system; that’s what iBUYPOWER and Asetek have done, modifying the latter’s 120mm LCLC to fit the asymmetric Level 10 layout.

We’re not entirely clear on the exact details of the liquid-cooling setup in place, but going from the images iBUYPOWER have supplied it’s covering the CPU at least. It’ll work hand in hand with the company’s custom overclocking service, where they crank up the CPU speed before the PC even ends up on your desk.

Interestingly, iBUYPOWER are offering the Asetek liquid-cooling system as a free upgrade for their Level 10 based systems (there’s a $20 mail-in rebate involved). That’s reasonably generous of them, though given the PC starts at a shade over $2k before you start to add in the more interesting extras who’d quibble over $20.

The notebook is the first gaming machine to feature a touchscreen and is aimed at the RTS gamer. The rig sports a 15-inch screen with multi-touch capability.

iBuyPower has announced that the notebook will ship on January 22 with a price starting at $999. At the base price, you will get an Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 CPU, ATI 4650M graphics, 2GB of RAM, 250GB of storage, and a 6-cell battery. Those wanting more can add options.

The options include up to 8GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, a Blu-ray player, and various gaming peripherals. The machine is being billed as a great mobile gaming platform for the RTS gamer letting them touch the screen to control the action rather than using a mouse.

CES is always a hot bed of new computer introductions and other gear. Boutique gaming PC manufacturer iBuyPower is set to unveil the first multi-touch gaming notebook in a forthcoming line of machines using touch screen tech.

The notebook is called the Battalion Touch CZ-10 and has a 15-inch screen that takes advantage of Windows multitouch capability. The exact launch date of the machine is unknown, but iBuyPower says that the machine will be launching in the coming months.

Hard specifications for the notebook are not available at this time. The manufacturer says that the touch screen tech is perfect for gamers who like RTS games where much of the play involves directing groups of characters around the screen.

In May of this year iBuyPower unveiled its slick new custom painted Chimera gaming PC and it was really cool. The custom paint looked like it would be more at home on a show car than a gaming computer. iBuyPower has now announced the follow up called the Chimera 2.

The Chimera 2 has a new Inferno II chassis with a custom pained flame dragon that looks awesome. The custom computers have wrap around paint covering four exterior surfaces and a charcoal black interior. A range of CPU options is available including Intel Core i7 and i5 processors as well as AMD Phenom II processors.

Other options include a range of HDDs and SSDs as well as different graphics cards. The cooling system includes four fans and an optional 120mm liquid cooling solution. Pricing for the Chimera 2 starts at $999 and well optioned Core i7 machines go for around $1,899.

If you’re in the market for a stonkingly fast gaming laptop then your options keep getting better; iBuyPower are the latest company to dip a toe into the Core i7 pool, with their new Battalion 101 W870CU notebook. Inside the hefty chassis there’s a 17.3-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 LCD, up to 8GB of RAM and a choice of Core i7-720QM, i7-820QM or i7-920XM processors. Graphics are courtesy of NVIDIA’s GTX280 with 1GB of DDR3 memory.

Storage kicks off from a mere 250GB, rising to up to dual 500GB HDDs or a choice of dual SSDs, and there’s also a choice of DVD or Blu-ray optical drives. As you’d expect, there’s gigabit ethernet, WiFi a/g/n, Bluetooth and an eSATA port, along with a fingerprint scanner and Windows 7 Home Premium.

Pricing kicks off at $2,079, though you’re looking at another $200 on top of that for the Core i7-820QM or $745 for the i7-920XM Extreme. Maxed out with SSDs and Blu-ray and you’re looking at something merrily north of $5,000, which seems a lot for a system that will snap your vertebrae should you dare to carry it any significant distance.

It’s been just over a month since we last heard anything from iBUYPOWER regarding a PC, but here we are with a brand new offering, filled with goodies for all the PC gamers out there. This time around, we’ve got the Paladin E-Series, which is based on the Intel “Lynnfield” processors and new P55 chipsets. There’s three models to choose from: the Gamer Paladin E870, E780, and E720, each of which features one of Intel’s new Core i7 800-series or Core i5 processors, along with the newest P55 chipset motherboards.

iBUYPOWER is aiming to provide top-notch gaming power, all rolled up into an affordable package, by releasing the Paladin E-Series. In this regard, the company is including their new Power Drive Overclocking Service, for the first time ever. iBUYPOWER will offer three levels of service: up to 10%, up to 20%, and finally up to 30%. The 10% overclocking service is actually free, with the second level (up to 20%) going for $49, and the final level of service (up to 30%) coming in at $99. iBUYPOWER’s overclocking service is an important addition to the company’s innovative array of system improvements and specialized build options.

Other features included in the package include the Harmony sound reduction system which reduces system noise; an internal USB expansion system which improves both the front panel and internal USB connectivity; and the Specialized Advanced Packaging system, which is a needed addition in foam packaging to help promote safer delivery of items, when shipped. The Paladin E-Series PCs are available right now, and available at iBUYPOWER’s site. The units starts at $649, and are customizable.

The weekend is here again fellow geeks and geekettes so I am back with another week in review. Monday more rumors surfaced that has Apple launching that long anticipated tablet device this November. The rumors further claim that the tablet will be aimed at gaming and media use. Early this week Verizon cut the pricing on all its smartphones save a few of the new ones to $99. That makes us think lots of new smartphone hardware is on its way.

Sony had the specs for a pair of coming eReaders leak this week ahead of their official launch. The readers are available in two sizes and look to battle the Kindle for the dollars of avid readers around the country. Apple’s coming new OS X Snow Leopard hit Amazon for pre-order this week. The prices should make Bill Gates blush, an individual upgrade is a mere $29 and a five-user upgrade pack is $49.

Nikon’s VP650 point-and-shoot camera was tipped for launch in September on Monday. The slick camera is the first to integrate a projector into the feature list to allow easy sharing of photos with friends without having to crowd around the screen. Amazon added the Palm Pre to its online catalog Monday at the same $199.99 price everyone else is offering the device for.

OCZ’s massive 1TB SSD appropriately called the Colossus had pricing and availability released, the bad news is the SSD will sell for $2,500! WildCharge unveiled its oh so desirable wire-free charging system for the iPhone this week and me want. The catch is that you have to remove the phone from the included case to sync.

Hardware geeks were thrilled this week when Intel’s new Core i9 32nm six-core beast of a CPU was caught in the wild. The CPU is an engineering sample and said to run at 2.4GHz. An app for the Pre surfaced this week that does something sure to make Sprint mad. The app lets users tether the Pre for use as a 3G USB router. Who knows how long it will last before Sprint sues the maker into oblivion, so get the app fast.

Rumors cropped up on Tuesday that have Intel and Dell releasing a tablet that requires a subscription to battle the Kindle. The tablet will reportedly be given free to users who sign up for one or more subscriptions, presumably to digital magazines and newspapers. Logitech released a USB transceiver this week that will work with up to six different peripherals at the same time. The littleUnifying USB receiver sticks out of the port only 8mm and will let you move from work to home without having to plug in a new wireless receiver for your mouse and keyboard.

Android smartphone users got their own Amazon app this week that lets them take pics of things like CDs, DVDs and barcodes and find out how much they can buy the same product for from Amazon. Those rumors about a slim PS3 just won’t die. They resurfaced again this week after the 80GB PS3 was killed off in Japan as evidenced by a leaked letter that final 80GB PS3 orders had to be place before Sunday August 9. The model is expected to be replaced by the 80GB PS3 slim.

Images of that sexy Zune HD that we have been hearing about have surfaced that show a sexy device that looks a lot like the original iPhone with a few more angles to me. Apparently, the device will come in black and silver colors. BFG unveiled some hot NVIDIA GTX 295 and 285 video cards this week that have self-contained liquid cooling units built in. Knowing BFG that will mean that the cards are overclocked significantly compared to stock cards. Expect the cards to be expensive though.

more fuel was thrown on the Apple tablet rumor fire this week when a listing for a device called iProd was unearthed in the code for the iPhone OS 3.1 beta. Speculation has the iProd as the tablet that was rumored again this week. Earlier in the week some leaked photos of the Zune HD surfaced and then on Wednesday CNET got hands on with the sexy device. This is the first Zune that looked like something a technophile would actually want to own.

If you are the sort who has a lot of Apple products like iPods and iPhone lying around, the dock for you showed up Wednesday called the Parat Parasync. The device is capable of synching 20 different dockable Apple products at one time. The much anticipated T-Mobile myTouch 3G went on sale Wednesday for $199.99 to replace the G1 as the top-of-the-line Android smartphone on the T-Mobile network.

Sprint announced new 3G and 4G wireless routers this week that allow up to four or more users to access a WiMax connection or a 3G connection at one time. The devices create mobile Wi-Fi hotspots. Toshiba says that it will be ready to launch its first fuel cell in the next two months. I have been waiting for fuel cells to be available for a while that are refillable and can power my notebook.

A screen shot from Rogers Wireless was leaked this week that shows the 8GB iPhone 3G will be replaced by an 8GB iPhone 3GS. The rub is that the screen shot shows that stores are expected to use all the 3G iPhones before selling the 8GB 3GS. WildCharge unveiled a very strange wired, wireless charging system called the PowerDisc. You have to plug the PowerDisc into your device with a cable and then the PowerDisc charges from the WildCharge pad.

Sony has unveiled a new and odd three-legged tripod device called the Party-shot that uses face detection and 360-degree panning capability to snap pictures of people at your parties without having to carry the camera with you. The upside is that you have an extra hand free to carry more beer if you use this thing. Sony detailed its Memory Stick XC with a whopping 2TB of storage this week. What happened to the Sony getting away from proprietary formats thing?

Samsung unveiled an eco-friendly phone made from bio-plastic on Thursday appropriately called the Reclaim. The device isn’t a smartphone, but it sports a full QWERTY keyboard and is only $49.99 after rebates. Hitachi reveled its highest capacity and fastest hard drive ever with 2TB of storage and 7200 rpm speed called the Deskstar 7K2000. Strangely, the company has 500GB platters, but the drive uses five platters instead of four.

Microsoft unveiled a prototype keyboard Friday that uses pressure sensitive technology that is sure to force us all to learn to type again. The idea is that different amounts of pressure on keys would activate caps, lower case letters, or alternate characters. I can only imagine the illegible text that would result from my use of such a keyboard. The Chimera Killer Special Edition gaming desktop broke cover this week with some very nice specs at reasonable prices. If you have the money to buy a gaming machine right now, this is a machine worth considering.

One of the things I always take with me if I am working from a netbook is a mouse. I hate track pads and especially hate them on netbooks where they are so close to the keyboard. Newton unveiled its thin Mogo Mouse for Netbooks that comes with its own dock for sticking to the outside of a netbook allowing you to always have a mouse with you. The svelte Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T was sighted in the wild this week. The Timeline notebook is one of the latest CULV ultraportables around and should post some nice battery life figures.

We also had another Apple tablet rumor pop up Friday. An analyst claims that Apple could sell $1.2 billion worth of its tablet machines in only a year. That’s assuming the new batch of rumors that the machine is coming turn out to be true.

There you have it, another week down and another week in review completed for your enjoyment. See you next week!

The new tech is being offered on all their custom gaming PCs starting now.

It works by lining the walls of the case with acoustic dampening material. This prevents sound from escaping and reduces case rattle and vibration. You can add the H-SRS tech to any iBUYPOWER system from now on for $49 or $89 with White Lightning LED-lit fans.

Press Release:

iBUYPOWER Launches Paladin XLC “Extreme Liquid Cooling” Gaming Systems with Oversized Fans and Double-sized 240mm Radiator Liquid Cooling System

Paladin XLC V3 Features Coolermaster HAF 932 Full Tower, Intel Core i7-975 CPU, and three NVIDIA Geforce GTX 285 in Triple-SLI configuration

El Monte, CA – July 01, 2009 – iBUYPOWER one of the largest gaming PC manufacturers in the world, is excited to announce the super-cooled Paladin XLC line of gaming PCs. iBUYPOWER outfitted each system with Asetek’s 240mm radiator liquid cooling solution to keep the Paladin XLC running long and cool in a tundra-esque state. The double-sized radiator is paired with 2 massive 230mm fans, which turn at a virtually noiseless 800RPM.

“PC Cooling is a fairly simple concept, the cooler a system runs the better and longer it will perform,” said Darren Su, Vice President of iBUYPOWER. “The Paladin XLC systems were designed with advanced cooling systems to increase component lifespan, allow for higher clock speeds, and ensure a better gaming experience for our customers.”

The three configurations each feature an Intel Core i7 processor, 6 GB or more of DDR3 memory, and at least a terabyte of storage space. Paladin XLC customers also have the option of supping up their system with an 80 GB solid state drive for lightning fast boot times, a Blu-ray drive, a second 1 TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive, or choosing from one of six iBUYPOWER exclusive custom painted case designs.

The Paladin XLC systems start at $1,399, and are available now at www.iBUYPOWER.com.

Customers with more specific gaming needs can configure a fully customizable system at www.iBUYPOWER.com. All iBUYPOWER systems also come standard with 1 year limited warranty and lifetime technical support.

This new system goes beyond awesome fire graphics on the outside, however. The side paneling is clear, so you can add whatever sort of lighting you want and with an Asetek liquid cooling solution plus three 120mm fans, there’s no way this thing is overheating.

The Chimera is available in an Intel Core i7 and an AMD AM3 + Phenom II version and can use either ATI or NVIDIA. And you have a wider array of options here. You can add on a Creative Labs SoundBlaster X-Fi Sound Card or a Killer NIC gaming network card, if you’d like. Plus, you get your choice of Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. or Halo 2 when you buy it. You can get the Chimera Gaming System now for a starting price of $999.

Hardcore gamers out there might be interested to know that the Gamer Supreme 928i from iBUYPOWER will soon be available through NewEgg exclusively for $1,299. The rig is positioned for gamers who need the performance, and have a bit of spending money. The specs are pretty nice, so make sure you check those out below.

I don’t know about you, but most gamers I know usually build their rigs. However, the issues and hassle of doing so are a pretty good deterrent. The Gamer Supreme 928i offers gamers the latest Core i7 processors, and some powerful graphics cards. The 928i was able to achieve 60 frames-per-second at a resolution of 1280×1024 while playing the system intensive World in Conflict on the Very High setting, using the game’s built-in benchmark mode. That’s not too shabby.

The specifications are as follows:
CPU	Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz
Motherboard	Intel X58
Memory	6GB (2GB x3) Triple-Channel DDR3-1333
Total Memory Slots: 6
Available: 3
Max Capacity: 24GB
GPU	NVIDIA GeForce GTX-285 1GB
HDD	1TB Serial-ATA-II
Optical Drive	22X DL DVD+/-RW
LAN	10/100/1000 Mbps
Case	PSI SILVER ARMORX Gaming Case + Blue color lighting
Power Supply	800W
MSRP/Retail	$1,299

All that and a one year warranty with parts and labor. You can buy one here.
