In May of this year iBuyPower unveiled its slick new custom painted Chimera gaming PC and it was really cool. The custom paint looked like it would be more at home on a show car than a gaming computer. iBuyPower has now announced the follow up called the Chimera 2.

If you’re in the market for a stonkingly fast gaming laptop then your options keep getting better; iBuyPower are the latest company to dip a toe into the Core i7 pool, with their new Battalion 101 W870CU notebook.  Inside the hefty chassis there’s a 17.3-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 LCD, up to 8GB of RAM and a choice of Core i7-720QM, i7-820QM or i7-920XM processors.  Graphics are courtesy of NVIDIA’s GTX280 with 1GB of DDR3 memory.

It’s been just over a month since we last heard anything from iBUYPOWER regarding a PC, but here we are with a brand new offering, filled with goodies for all the PC gamers out there. This time around, we’ve got the Paladin E-Series, which is based on the Intel “Lynnfield” processors and new P55 chipsets. There’s three models to choose from: the Gamer Paladin E870, E780, and E720, each of which features one of Intel’s new Core i7 800-series or Core i5 processors, along with the newest P55 chipset motherboards.

The weekend is here again fellow geeks and geekettes so I am back with another week in review. Monday more rumors surfaced that has Apple launching that long anticipated tablet device this November. The rumors further claim that the tablet will be aimed at gaming and media use. Early this week Verizon cut the pricing on all its smartphones save a few of the new ones to $99. That makes us think lots of new smartphone hardware is on its way.

iBUYPOWER have announced a new range of gaming PCs, the Paladin XLC series, which use Intel’s Core i7 processors, Coolermaster’s HAF 932 cases and Asetek’s 240mm radiator liquid-cooling.  Despite the high performance – up to a Core i7-975 can be specified – the systems are apparently “virtually noiseless” by virtue of two huge 230mm fans running at just 800rpm.
