The next big Apple event will take place the 22nd of October and it'll be featuring several new pieces of hardware. Amongst these are a new iPad, a new iPad mini, and quite possibly a flow of new information on the 2013 edition of the Mac Pro and a set of new MacBook Pros as well - right in time for OS X Mavericks. This event was announced with an invitation with colorful leaves falling on an Apple logo that simply suggested that "we still have a lot to cover."

Unity iOS 7 game controller support reinforces “optional” state

Unity iOS 7 game controller support reinforces “optional” state

Seeing the Apple-made universal game controller support in iOS 7 was a healthy boost of confidence for game developers around the mobile universe earlier this year. For the folks at Unity, this meant they'd be able to release games that were working with a compatible support module that would be able to take full advantage of controllers in a way that all devices could work with - and Apple would support them in return. With the update to Unity 4.2.2, developers around the Unity environment will be brought up to full controller speed, as it were.

iPad 5 internals leak makes Touch ID all the more likely

When the redesigned iPhone 5s home button flex cable first appeared with a slightly different configuration from the cable for the iPhone 5, it was suggested to have been to make way for Touch ID. Apple's Touch ID does indeed exist on the iPhone 5s - that's fingerprint sensing technology for iDevices, if you did not know - and a redesigned 5th generation iPad home button flex cable has appeared here via CTech today. The 5th generation iPad is said to be appearing in full as imminent as mid-month here in October, complete with a redesigned body to reflect the new wave with the iPad mini.

Gold iPhone 5s demand becomes reasonable while supply stays mysterious

Gold iPhone 5s demand becomes reasonable while supply stays mysterious

While demand for the gold-colored iPhone 5s seems to have been high the world over, the oddest cultural response continues to be in China, where the device is given the nickname "Tyrant King." It's there also that some of the highest prices have been demanded, with some 3rd party sellers taking the opportunity to follow the supply trends to maximize profit. This week, however, sources speaking with MyDrivers in China have reported the lowering of prices on this 3rd party merchant market for the gold iPhone 5s due not only to the idea that this model would be appearing in greater supply soon, but because "only wealthy people would buy this phone."

What you'll find for iOS 7.0.3 is likely bug fixes, with the public release headed for the middle of next week.

Love it or hate it, you have no choice but to download iOS 7

Love it or hate it, you have no choice but to download iOS 7

Apple’s iOS 7 has been a lightning rod of controversy over the last week. The operating system has been called the very best mobile software Apple has ever released by the company’s hardcore fans, while those who aren’t so quick to sing its praises say that it has much room for improvement.

Of course, that there’s some backlash isn’t all that surprising. Apple’s iOS 7 is a major departure from the previous operating system, featuring an all-new design, new visual effects, and new functions. The operating system was crafted by Jonathan Ive, and by the look of things, Apple is going in whatever direction he chooses in the future.
