Google willing to spend big on Hulu

Google apparently really wants to buy premium video site Hulu. According to AllThingsD, sources familiar with the situation suggest that Google is willing to spend big for Hulu, proposing an acquisition that's much larger in scale than what's been offered by the other contenders. Microsoft drops out of Hulu auction according to sources

Early this month we caught wind that the popular online video streaming site Hulu might be up for sale. According to sources when the story first broke Hulu had been contacting a bunch of different major players to solicit bids for a sale. Those players were said to be Amazon, AT&T, and Verizon, Liberty Media, Netflix, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo and Samsung. Hulu is reportedly considering selling itself, though to exactly who is currently unclear. The WSJ reported that an unnamed company had made a speculative bid for Hulu, with the LA Times later suggesting that Yahoo was the interested party. Why I Can’t Stand Hulu Plus

As someone who streams Netflix content through several different devices, including my HDTV, the iPad, and others, I recently decided to give some other streaming offerings a chance to win my affection. My first choice among the many out there was Hulu Plus.

Now, I should note that I’ve used Hulu quite often. While I’m having lunch, I’ve been known to surf to Hulu’s Web site and watch some episodes of shows I might have missed recently. I guess you could say that I’ve been a Hulu veteran for quite some time now.

RIM wants Blackberry PlayBook Hulu Plus access

RIM launched the Blackberry Playbook not long ago and started sending the machines out to reviewers to spend some hands on time with. We put up our review of the Playbook last week and noted that the firmware was a wreck. Chris called the firmware "half-baked" at the time he wrote about the device.
