T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 update pushed back to next week

The T-Mobile HTC One update bringing Android 4.3 to the smartphone has been delayed until Monday, with the smartphone company blaming matters "out of our control" for the postponed release. HTC had previously told One owners that T-Mobile would release Android 4.3 - as well as the updated version of its own Sense software - sometime this week, but unspecified issues have forced a slight change to the schedule, HTC America president Jason Mackenzie confirmed.

HTC One max Review

HTC One max Review

HTC should've had a best-seller with the HTC One. The metal-bodied phone was the go-to recommendation for Android fans in the know, and that it didn't get the attention of Samsung's Galaxy range is arguably more about marketing than anything else. HTC followed Samsung's example in distilling the brand for a smaller version, in the shape of the HTC One mini, and has now scaled things up with the HTC One max. A 5.9-inch display, metal body, and UltraPixel camera technology are arguably ingredients for the perfect phablet, but has HTC baked the One max badly? Read on for our full review.

Lenovo HTC acquisition tipped to be in the works for months

Lenovo HTC acquisition tipped to be in the works for months

It's actually surprisingly common these days to hear about acquisitions of one major company by another, so today's suggestion that Lenovo is interested in picking up smartphone company HTC isn't all that off-the-wall. HTC hasn't been doing especially well in the profits department over the past few quarters, so acquisition rumors have appeared more than once over the past year. Here in the Fall of 2013, Lenovo has been suggested to have been in talks since August with HTC over a possible purchase.

Microsoft taps Samsung and Huawei for dual-boot Windows Phone options

Microsoft taps Samsung and Huawei for dual-boot Windows Phone options

Just as they have apparently tapped HTC for the dual-boot option for Android phones with Windows Phone 8, it's become apparent today that Microsoft may have asked Samsung and Huawei to do the same. Microsoft was tipped this past week to have suggested HTC make a selection of devices that boot to Windows Phone 8 as well as their basic Android mobile OS to increase the likelihood that a user would find Windows Phone appealing. If Microsoft does indeed get their way with the likes of HTC and Samsung as well, we may see Windows Phone 8.1 working on the HTC One Max and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Active.
