HTC One M8 passes through FCC for Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T

This week the FCC has a number of HTC-registered listed OET, including several that are more than likely attributable to the new HTC One. This device has been seen with registration numbers and radios that make perfect sense lining up with an international model, one for AT&T, one for Verizon Wireless, a T-Mobile USA model, and one for Sprint. Each version of the new HTC One has 4G LTE connectivity.

Apple said poaching HTC engineers for China tech push

Apple is reportedly on an engineer hiring spree, poaching staff from HTC and other firms in Taiwan, to speed up how quickly it can develop and launch products and new technologies, it's reported. The Cupertino firm's Chinese engineer and operations staff roster is said to have swollen by several hundred over just the past two years, and is now believed to amount to more than 600.

HTC may not be showing us its new flagship Android smartphone until March 25th, but it has seemingly confirmed the name of the handset codenamed "HTC M8", with a video billing it as the "new HTC One". The name, which fits in with indications back at the original HTC One launch in 2013 that the nomenclature would be for an ongoing family of devices - rather than, say, "HTC One 2" or "HTC Two" as some had speculated - follows similar strategies by Apple around earlier iPad launches.
