SlashGear Week in Review – Week 12 2011

Another week in the history books and another Week in Review for you to check out. We started the week last week with the alarms not working on older OS versions of the iPhone. At least the alarms were an hour early and not an hour late. The only fix for me was updating to the latest version of the OS. Terminix and its ad agency created a billboard in Dallas last week using thousands of live roaches. The board was designed to warn people of the germs roaches carry and to set an example to all the roaches watching of what can happen if they come into your home.

The HTC ThunderBolt is a first but not a first: the only 4G smartphone on Verizon's LTE network, but certainly not the first 4G smartphone we've seen and following a hardware pattern that dates back nine months or so to the HTC EVO 4G on Sprint and takes in AT&T's Inspire 4G on the way. HTC Thunderbolt 4G on sale at Verizon

The HTC Thunderbolt has finally gone on sale, with Verizon asking $249.99 for the new LTE Android smartphone. Running Froyo on a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the Thunderbolt has an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixels up front, 32GB of storage and - until May 15 at least - free mobile hotspot to share that lovely LTE data.

HTC Thunderbolt hits Verizon March 17 with free 4G hotspot

Verizon's much-anticipated HTC Thunderbolt - the first 4G LTE smartphone to hit the carrier - has finally been priced and dated. The 4G handset will arrive on March 17 for $249.99 with a new, two-year agreement; to sweeten the deal, Verizon will throw in complementary mobile hotspot use until May 15.

Oh my goodness this phone has had its release date moved around more times than Spinal Tap has had drummers. At one time it was February 28th, then it was February 24th, then it was even all the way up to March 10th. Now we've got a bit of a leak that says no less than all of those dates were bunk. Here's a photo sent to our sister site Android Community that appears to have been clicked in a Best Buy saying that the time for final launch of the HTC ThunderBolt is March 10th, 2011.
