T-Mobile Sensation 4G Android 4.0 update ends free tethering

T-Mobile USA subscribers using the HTC Sensation will have to choose between free tethering and an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, with the carrier's fine-print revealing mobile hotspot use will no longer be overlooked. "HTC Sensation 4G [users] will be required to add Wi-Fi Mobile Hotspot feature in order to use the service after completing this update"the Android 4.0 software update support document confirms, ahead of the new firmware's release on Wednesday this week.

HTC promises Android 4.0 ICS updates early access preview tomorrow

The folks at HTC have announced an "early access preview" of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for two of its current hero devices: the Sensation and the Sensation XE. These Android smartphones will have a very limited release of the Ice Cream Sandwich update across Europe only as HTC prepares the update for worldwide availability. This preview will be released to only a few hundred users who will be encouraged to play with, enjoy, and get used to the ICS experience with HTC's own user interface Sense.

HTC has confirmed it will launch two new smartphones in November, one of which is expected to be the HTC Rezound aka the first Beats Audio enabled device for the US market. Speaking during the financial results call with investors today, having announced $625m profit in Q3 earlier today, HTC revealed its plans for two device launches next month, though failed to specify which platforms they would run on.

White HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE due October 1

A white HTC Sensation is incoming, it's been confirmed, with UK retailer Phones4u announcing that it has won the jump on other retailers to offer both the pale version of the existing Android smartphone and the new, Beats Audio enabled HTC Sensation XE from October 1. Meanwhile, the white HTC Radar will also be arriving at the retailer's stores on October 1, and the company is promising to put some heft behind Windows Phone marketing.
