T-Mobile USA subscribers using the HTC Sensation will have to choose between free tethering and an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, with the carrier's fine-print revealing mobile hotspot use will no longer be overlooked. "HTC Sensation 4G [users] will be required to add Wi-Fi Mobile Hotspot feature in order to use the service after completing this update"the Android 4.0 software update support document confirms, ahead of the new firmware's release on Wednesday this week.

HTC promises Android 4.0 ICS updates early access preview tomorrow
The folks at HTC have announced an "early access preview" of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for two of its current hero devices: the Sensation and the Sensation XE. These Android smartphones will have a very limited release of the Ice Cream Sandwich update across Europe only as HTC prepares the update for worldwide availability. This preview will be released to only a few hundred users who will be encouraged to play with, enjoy, and get used to the ICS experience with HTC's own user interface Sense.

HTC: Two November launches; Sensation fell short of expectations
HTC has confirmed it will launch two new smartphones in November, one of which is expected to be the HTC Rezound aka the first Beats Audio enabled device for the US market. Speaking during the financial results call with investors today, having announced $625m profit in Q3 earlier today, HTC revealed its plans for two device launches next month, though failed to specify which platforms they would run on.

HTC’s tagline these days may be “quietly brilliant”, but the company is actually quietly proud of the new HTC Sensation XE. Based on the same Sensation we described as a great everyman Android flagship just a few months back, with the addition of Beats Audio technology thanks to HTC’s investment in the pro-headphones company its become something of a niche powerhouse, at least if you talk to HTC’s team. Everything from the G-Slate Android tablet to the BlackBerry Bold 9900 to the myTouch 4G Slide is now $99.99 or less after rebate. You'll of course be tying each of these devices to a new (mark the "new" bit, it's important), 2-year Value plan with unlimited data - this includes unlimited talk, text, and data family plan for $49.99 for each of two lines.

White HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE due October 1
A white HTC Sensation is incoming, it's been confirmed, with UK retailer Phones4u announcing that it has won the jump on other retailers to offer both the pale version of the existing Android smartphone and the new, Beats Audio enabled HTC Sensation XE from October 1. Meanwhile, the white HTC Radar will also be arriving at the retailer's stores on October 1, and the company is promising to put some heft behind Windows Phone marketing.

HTC Sensation XE official: Beats Audio, 1.5GHz and bigger battery
HTC has announced the HTC Sensation XE, the first smartphone to benefit from the company’s Beats Audio partnership. Building on the original Sensation, the new Sensation XE adds custom audio processing hardware and software, as well as increasing the speed of the Android Gingerbread smartphone to 1.5GHz and boosting runtimes with a larger battery.
HTC may offer Sensation Special Edition with Beats
HTC may soon be offering the Beats by Dr. Dre audio technology in one of its current smartphones. Rumors pointed to the upcoming HTC Vigor as the first handset to feature Beats technology, but that may not be the case according to a document obtained by CNET. Instead, it looks like HTC will offer a Sensation Special Edition to sport the new fine-tuned audio experience.

HTC Bootloader Unlock Live, Sensation First in Line
As promised weeks ago, HTC has begun the bootloader unlocking process today, all of it starting with the international edition of the HTC Sensation, and all of it working from the also new HTCDev.com.
