HTC Desire 200 leaks as budget HTC One mini

HTC Desire 200 leaks as budget HTC One mini

The tiniest of HTC smartphones from this HTC One generation appears to have leaked today with the name "HTC Desire 200" attached to it. While this little amalgamation of metal, plastic, and glass might look like a palm-sized HTC One, it's only a shadow of its larger hero cousin. Instead, this machine will aim for the ultra-budget crowd, bringing with it a low-resolution display and a slightly older version of Android and Sense than the common 2013 smartphone.

HTC One mini August launch plans leak again

HTC's One mini will hit shelves by August, it's again claimed, with fresh sources confirming the 4.3-inch "M4" variant on the original HTC One. The smaller smartphone is on track for a summer release window, two insiders apparently briefed on HTC's plans whispered to Bloomberg, as the company continues to rebuild its Android business in the face of Samsung's segment dominance.

HTC M4 enters Bluetooth certification process: HTC One mini incoming

When the Verizon HTC One hit the same process we're seeing a new HTC One Mini (aka HTC M4) entering today with the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, it was unveiled by the carrier later that day. Today, on the other hand, it's a bit more likely that this machine will remain under cover. The HTC M4 has been rumored to be in the mix for a late summer 2013 release for some time - in some cases, appearing as an HTC One Mini before the HTC One was revealed on its own!

HTC M4 vs HTC One: wait for Verizon, or wait even longer?

HTC M4 vs HTC One: wait for Verizon, or wait even longer?

As the HTC One is confirmed for Verizon here in the United States, so too has an "HTC One Mini" been all but confirmed by a set of leaked up-close photos. These photos are either the work of a hardware tester or an extremely dedicated mock-up artist - as we're inclined to believe the former, it's become apparent that a new choice must be made for those waiting for their favorite amalgamation of HTC and Android. Should you pick up an HTC One now, or does it make more sense to wait for the ever-so-slightly smaller HTC M4?

HTC CEO: Exec changes and “narrowed” focus are right for us

HTC CEO Peter Chou has insisted that the company is still on a solid track, despite the recent spate of high-profile exits from its leadership team. "Actions to streamline our business resulted in some reorganization and executive departures," Chou conceded in a statement given to SlashGear this morning, "but initial sales of the One have validated our approach." The comment follows some upturn in sales, though HTC is not out of the danger zone yet.

HTC shuffles as COO jumps: Quality teams formed as revenues climb

HTC has lost another high-level exec, this time the company's Chief Operating Officer Matthew Costello, stepping back to work as an "executive advisor" while HTC reshuffles to form a new quality assurance team, among others. The mix-up, confirmed in an internal email to HTC employees obtained by Bloomberg, marks another potentially painful top-tier abandonment after several leavers back in May.

Verizon HTC One official: coming “later this summer”

Verizon HTC One official: coming “later this summer”

This morning the folks at Verizon made the HTC One official for their 4G LTE network in the United States, ending weeks of rumors and tips aimed at the point. This device will work with the same specifications as it had on other carriers in the United States and internationally, carrying the HTC One hero name as it does so. At the moment, Verizon has only specified that the HTC One will be coming later this summer.

Verizon HTC One enters Bluetooth certification process

Verizon HTC One enters Bluetooth certification process

Though such an appearance of a smartphone in Bluetooth certification listings would be a non-news situation, the code corresponding to the HTC One with Verizon-friendly innards has kicked up the proverbial fan dust this morning. What's happening here is that a device with the code HTC6500LVW has appeared seeking Bluetooth certification for the USA, this code corresponding to the HTC M7 working with Verizon's collection of wireless data radio bands. This effectively means there's another HTC One on the way, the one Verizon fans have been waiting for. UPDATE: The Verizon HTC One is now official.

HTC One Android 4.2.2 (with Sense 5.0) update detailed

The update to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on both the HTC One and the HTC Butterfly (international version of the DROID DNA, that is), has been a long time coming. Today it's appeared only on some international models of the HTC One with a bit of a boost to Sense 5.0 as well (without the name change) - and the aesthetic changes are what's heading the pack. While we're expecting this change to hit carrier models in the near future, right this minute it's just popping up on a select few models across the sea.
