HTC sales target cut for Q2

It appears that the HTC One series is doing well, but not quite as well as HTC had hoped when they first launched it as HTC Corp cut its second-quarter revenue target by just a bit here in the first half of 2012. Cutting their second-quarter revenue down by 13.3 percent this Wednesday, HTC is noting that it's not least of all because of slow sales in Europe. HTC EVO 4G LTE shipping date now May 24

In what's quickly becoming one of the most hotly anticipated smartphones on its carrier of choice, the HTC EVO 4G LTE's release situation has just turned back to positive with a May 24th ship date on the books. The HTC EVO 4G LTE was recently the subject of an investigation / check sort of event at the US border while HTC's shipment (which also included HTC One X) units were held up on account of their supposed patent-infringing software. Since we first heard that news, HTC's newest relative of the HTC One series has been cleared - or is about to be cleared, at least, as its carrier suggests the late May shipping date as a reality for pre-order customers. Now that the HTC EVO 4G LTE and the HTC One X have been released from customs – or so we’ve heard – we can start deciding which one we really want when we head to the store this week. What we’ve got here are two devices of the same mind, each with a 4.7-inch display, the same Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, and what very much appears the be the same camera on the back as well. The big difference then lies not in the hardware, but in the carrier – and with LTE on both devices, it might be a tough call – right?

HTC EVO 4G LTE postponed indefinitely once more

It appears that once again the HTC EVO 4G LTE has hit a wall when it comes to being delivered to the USA for sale, so says customers receiving the note that their pre-orders were once again stopped here at the end of the week. In the epic battle that has become HTC's this summer in bringing their new line of hero smartphones into the USA, the HTC EVO 4G LTE has once again suffered a bit of a loss as Best Buy takes back what it'd reported earlier this week with a new announcement of delay. Though the press already does have its hands on review units of this device, it seems that that's as far as HTC was allowed to go with getting said hardware into the states before patent infringement via Apple reared its head. HTC EVO 4G LTE set for May 23 release

Amid delays from US customs after a patent dispute several months old, the HTC EVO 4G LTE appears to be prepared to be launched in the United States through Best Buy for pre-order customers. The "PRE-ORDER UPDATE" you see here comes with emails sent to Best Buy pre-order hopefuls for the new LTE phone, bringing hope to those who found themselves empty-gutted at news that their next most favorite smartphone would be delayed "indefinitely" earlier this week. US HTC phones circumvent Apple’s patents

Apple has managed to score a victory against HTC, with the ITC finding that its Android phones infringed a patent dealing with context menus. It may be short lived, however, as it has been discovered that HTC is shipping a custom version of Android in the United States without such context menus in order to circumvent the block. The Verge has confirmed that the AT&T HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE both exclude the infringing feature. Read The Full Story

HTC stock dives after Apple blocks smartphone shipments

HTC's stock price has been sent into a tumble, after imports of new HTC handsets into the US were blocked in customs by an Apple complaint to the  ITC. The company had been riding high on positive reviews of the One X and EVO 4G LTE, but saw new supplies of the Android smartphones frozen indefinitely after the US International Trade Commission upheld Apple's complaint that the handsets infringe a patent held by the Cupertino company. As HTC ushers in their next generation of smartphones with their hero series of HTC One devices, so too does the impact spread to their other hard-hitting brand lines like what we’re seeing here in the HTC EVO 4G LTE. What we’ve seen of this device thus far is that it’s not just similar to the HTC One series we’ve seen so far, it’s basically the same in very many respects – right down to the HTC ImageSense chip for the camera. Where before we’d assumed that this chip and many other features in the HTC One series were the bits that made the series special, the HTC EVO 4G LTE makes it clear that HTC is perfectly willing to spread the love to the rest of their brand lines.

HTC EVO 4G LTE Photo Tour: New Orleans, CTIA 2012

This week at CTIA 2012, HTC is taking the press on a tour of New Orleans as they allow us a look at the next hero phone with an HTC ImageSense chip onboard: the HTC EVO 4G LTE. This device is roughly similar in size to the HTC One X, has a black, red, and gray color scheme, and comes with no less than the last embedded kickstand on earth. What HTC is doing today is proving the power of this device’s 8 megapixel camera, 1080p video capabilities, and HTC ImageSense chip onboard the next big EVO to hit the market. The next generation in HTC 3D devices has been spotted in a video promoting the design process behind yesterday's newly announced HTC Evo 4G LTE. This design video has several industrial designers, brainstormers, and generally awesome minds working for HTC explaining the philosophy behind HTC's 2012 lineup of devices, and lo and behold, what's that just a few minutes into the video? HTC Evo 4G LTE announced with Snapdragon S4

The newest HTC handset this week (after two HTC One heroes, no less), is the HTC Evo 4G LTE, the second device on the market with the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core chipset. This device will have the Snapdragon S4 MSM8960, also known as the first 28nm mobile processor on Earth, and will be rolling out with HD Voice capabilities. This device will be pushing HD Voice over 3G rather than the expected VoLTE this summer, as the device comes to the market late spring (pre-orders May 7th) here in the USA. Read The Full Story

HTC gives Sensation a WiMAX makeover for HTC EVO 4G+

HTC has outed its latest 4G smartphone, and though the dual-core HTC EVO 4G+ WiMAX handset is initially intended for South Korea's WiBro networks, we'd be very surprised if it didn't make it over to North American shores. Packing both WiMAX and HSPA connectivity, the EVO 4G+ basically takes the guts of the HTC Sensation - including the 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and 4.3-inch qHD resolution display - and gives it a squared off chassis.
