Leaked specs suggest updated DROID DNA or M7 for Verizon

Well this is interesting: Twitter user @LlabTooFeR has posted a list of specs for an allegedly incoming HTC device with a codename of DLXPLUS. Those who were following rumors before the reveal of the DROID DNA will recognize the "DLX" part of that codename, as it's what the device was called before it was officially announced by HTC. So, this new list of specs suggests that an enhanced version of the DROID DNA is on the way.

HTC Mini is your Butterfly’s candybar remote control and handset

HTC doesn't have a smartwatch like the Pebble, but it does have the HTC Mini, an NFC-equipped remote control and handset accessory which will be exclusively offered in China alongside the HTC Butterfly. The svelte handset - resembling an old candybar-style dumbphone - hooks up via Bluetooth to your Butterfly, so HTC suggests, and can be used for making calls without pulling the smartphone out of your pocket, as well as other things.

HTC kills big-screen Windows Phone over resolution restriction say insiders

HTC has reportedly axed plans for a big-screen Windows Phone 8 handset to counter the DROID DNA, after deciding that the maximum screen resolution limits of Microsoft's smartphone OS would leave it uncompetitive. The original plan had been to match the Android-based DNA with a roughly 5-inch Windows Phone 8 device, Bloomberg reports, eventually axed since WP8 supports only up to 720p resolution rather than 1080p.

Press photos of HTC Deluxe leak

A little over a week ago, we heard word about a rumored international version of the HTC DROID DNA that could be coming to users outside of the US and Japan. More photos were leaked to today in the form of what look to be press shots. In the photos, there's a white, black, and brown version of the global model -- which is likely to be called the Deluxe DLX -- and the brown version seems to have a glossier backing than the other two models.

DROID DNA Review

DROID DNA Review

HTC has gone all out with the DROID DNA, and it pays dividends: the new Verizon exclusive breaks records with its 1080p display, putting HTC back into the limelight with a legitimate flagship. A Full HD screen, 4G LTE, and a quadcore S4 Pro chipset tick the spec boxes more comprehensively than we've ever seen before, though big displays and fast processors do make us worry when the battery is non-removable. Has HTC redeemed itself with the best Android phone on the market, or are the DROID DNA's ambitions simply ahead of their time? Read on for the full SlashGear review.
