HTC 7 Pro Heading to Europe in Early 2011

The announcement that Windows Phone 7, the new mobile Operating System from Microsoft, wouldn't be landing on any CDMA-based carriers until 2011 was a big blow for some, but there was a glimmer of hope at yesterday's Microsoft event, when HTC's 7 Pro made a quick, non-working appearance. The device was said to be heading to Sprint in the early part of 2011, but it looks like Sprint's grasp on the device won't be exclusive. It's been confirmed that the device will be landing in the UK and the rest of Europe in the first half of 2011, too.

Wow! What an exciting day for Microsoft with their launch of Windows Phone 7! Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft stressed the importance of, "Always delightful, wonderfully mine," today in their live webcast. We were all excited about those words as the cast continued and we found out that 9 different phones (including LG, Samsung, HTC, and Dell) will launch soon, using 60 mobile operators, offered in 30 different countries. HTC's additions to the Windows Phone 7 market have been strong ones, and that's no different for the single CDMA-based device that was floating around the Microsoft event today. While we already know that there's not going to be a CDMA Windows Phone 7 device launched in the year 2010, that didn't stop HTC from showing off the HTC 7 Pro, which is a landscape slider, and it's heading to Sprint in the first half of 2011.

HTC 7 Mozart, HTC 7 Trophy, HTC HD7 and HTC 7 Pro get official with Windows Phone 7

HTC has announced its range of Windows Phone 7 smartphones, with models set to debut in Europe on October 21 and in the US on November 7.  The HTC 7 Mozart, HTC 7 Trophy and HTC HD7 will all launch in the UK as carrier exclusives, while the HTC 7 Surround will be an AT&T exclusive in the US.  Meanwhile a fifth device, the HTC 7 Pro, will arrive in Europe later in 2010 complete with a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard and broad network availability .  More details after the cut.
