Verizon and ZTE Introduce the AD3700 for World Travellers

Verizon Wireless announced today the upcoming release of the AD3700 global USB modem from ZTE. Locally, the device will utilize Verizon's EV-DO Revision A network, but globally it will open up its network capability and access EV-DO, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, HSPA, and UMTS, allowing Verizon wireless customers to use their new device in 175 countries.

Nokia Internet Tablet caught in wild, passes FCC: 3G, QWERTY and 5MP camera

Could this be Nokia's upcoming Internet Tablet?  Having heard little about the likely Maemo powered refresh from the company for a couple of months now, both the image you see here (more after the cut) and an FCC filing have appeared in short succession.  Both the device, and the FCC diagram, seem to match the leaked image of what was called the N900 "Rover" Internet Tablet from May.

Qualcomm Snapdragon devices coming 2009: always-on HSPA+

After their first netbook reference design sparked some interest, Qualcomm have been giving further details of their Snapdragon chipset and their intention for the platform.  Snapdragon uses a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU with integrated HSPA+, 1080p high-definition support, WiFi, mobile TV and GPS capabilities; it's also incredibly power-frugal, something that Manjit Gill, director of product management in Qualcomm's Connected and Consumer Products Group believes will allow hardware partners to create an truly always-connected device.
