Nexus 7 and HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus get Android 4.2.1 update

This morning, Google began rolling out the Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update for the LG Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 devices. A few hours later, an update for the Nexus 7 joined into the mix, and now, finally, an update has also been pushed out for the HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus. Nexus 7 3G back on sale in UK

Google's Nexus 7 3G is back in stock in the UK, with stocks of the 7-inch tablet finally restored after selling out shortly after the first listing went live. The ASUS-made slate - which is priced at £239 with 32GB of storage and an unlocked HSPA+ modem - currently ships in 3-5 days, according to Google's Play store, as per the WiFi-only 16GB and 32GB versions. T-Mobile USA lights up new HSPA+ and blasts AT&T iPhone speeds

T-Mobile USA has turned on HSPA+ in three new metro areas, claiming that in its tests with an unlocked iPhone 4S, it saw 70-percent faster downloads than on AT&T. The new service - in select parts of Washington D.C, Baltimore, and Houston - joins T-Mobile's existing iPhone-compatible "4G" 1900MHz provision as the carrier tries to remain relevant in the face of LTE services from rivals. Nexus 7 32GB and 32GB HSPA+ official

Google has refreshed the Nexus 7 with a new 32GB version, making the 16GB model the entry-level for under two hundred bucks, and throwing in an HSPA+ model for good measure. The 7-inch tablet, announced back at Google I/O, now has more internal storage for carrying extra music and video, while the HSPA+ version will mean getting online is more straightfoward. iPhone 5 comes GSM unlocked at Verizon

Well this is an interesting bit of news: iDownloadBlog's Jeff Benjamin has discovered that Verizon's iPhone 5 is indeed GSM unlocked. The way he discovered this was by cutting up an AT&T micro SIM card and putting it in his freshly-acquired iPhone 5 from Verizon. To his surprise (and ours), the iPhone picked up an AT&T signal, and he was able to hop onto the carrier's HSPA+ network and do a little bit of surfing. Read The Full Story

T-Mobile USA has snatched up a new Samsung Android phone, and while they're ten-a-penny these days, the fact that the Galaxy S Relay 4G has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard does differentiate it a little. Nokia: Lumia 920 and 820 coming with LTE and HSPA+ “later in year”

Nokia has confirmed availability for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, the company's new Windows Phone 8 handsets, which will hit markets across the world later in 2012. T-Mobile Galaxy Note to add Dropbox and Wi-fi calls

This week the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note has been revealed with a bow on it, showing off its own unique selection of carrier-added apps and the same fabulous S-Pen as the original. This device has been released internationally as well as on AT&T's 4G LTE network, while this newest release, set for later this summer, will be coming with T-Mobile's 4G - that being HSPA+, not quite LTE. T-Mobile has announced that this device will be popping up with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box in "the coming weeks" with a specific date showing its face much sooner than that.
