Nokia N97 announced: Video & Gallery

Nokia have announced the N97, its flagship N-series S60 smartphone.  Including both a 3.5-inch 640 x 360 resistive touchscreen with haptic feedback and a full QWERTY keyboard, with a slide-and-tilt mechanism that brings the display up to a 30-degree angle.  The S60 OS has been further tweaked to better make use of touch input, bringing it up to version 5, and includes many of the 5800 XpressMusic’s features such as the quick contacts bar and desktop widgets.

Sony EVDO/HSPA VAIO netbook revealed by FCC

Sony have received FCC approval for a WiFi, Bluetooth, EVDO and HSPA equipped "notebook PC" that, going by the accompanying photo, looks to be the company's much-rumored netbook.  The device, described as both the PCG-1P1L and PCG-1P2L, uses the Qualcomm Gobi WLAN chipset, and measures approximately 9.5 x 4.5-inches. Shots of the Motorola Atila touchscreen smartphone have leaked, showing off among other things the company's new theme for Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro (another, Apple-inspired theme is shown after the cut).  The Atila is quadband GSM and triband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA, capable of 7.2Mbps downloads and 1.8Mbps uploads (network depending); control is via a 2.8-inch QVGA 240 x 320 resistive touchscreen. Nokia's E71 smartphone is coming to AT&T, in the shape of the imaginatively-titled E71x.  The S60 handset was first tipped to be coming to the carrier back in February; exact specifications, including what may have changed in the process of being branded, are unclear.  Untampered with, the E71 is a quadband GSM device with dualband 3G HSDPA, a 2.4-inch display and full QWERTY keyboard, complete with WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and GPS. LG Prada II and Prada Link Bluetooth Watch launch

LG have officially launched the Prada II cellphone, as expected, and it's brought along a friend in the shape of a Bluetooth watch, the Prada Link.  Like other such devices we've seen, it can show caller ID as well as preview text messages, without requiring you to whip out the handset itself (and promptly get mugged).  As we've already seen, the Prada II itself is a 3G HSDPA (900/2100MHz) device with WiFi, a 3-inch capacitive WQVGA touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. ASUS R50a UMPC shipping now

The ASUS R50a UMPC has begun shipping, in Europe at least, from retailer Informatic.  The 5.8-inch touchscreen device has a 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD for storage and runs Vista.  There's also integrated 3G HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and a massive price: €1,475 ($1,839).
