HP Elite x3 smartphone, laptop might actually launch in June

HP Elite x3 smartphone, laptop might actually launch in June

Despite Microsoft's execs' best attempts, the company's mobile strategy, at least as far as actual smartphone devices go, is uncertain at best. However, that's not stopping a few of Microsoft's key friends from diving in without fear. Acer continues to promote its Jade Primo, for example, one of the few non-Lumia Windows 10 smartphones that can boast of Continuum for mobile support. Soon, HP might join the fray. According to a source, the company's intriguing Elite x3 is pretty much on schedule for a June launch, which could spice things up a bit for the Windows 10 mobile market.

Gartner, IDC: PC shipments off to a bad start in 2016

Gartner, IDC: PC shipments off to a bad start in 2016

The PC market just can't seem to catch a break. After 2015 was practically declared the worst year for PC sales, it seems that 2016 might be even worse. At least if figures for the first quarter are omens of things to come. While differing slightly on specific numbers, both Gartner and IDC agree on one depressing thing: PC shipments have substantially declined last quarter compared to 2015's opening quarter. While both do see some hope near the end of the year, that salvation might come a bit too late for the ailing market.

Dear HP: Your new logo is amazing and you should use it everywhere

Dear HP: Your new logo is amazing and you should use it everywhere

This week we got our first look at the HP Spectre 13.3 - and with it, the newest (and yet old) HP logo. This logo is fantastic. It was originally designed all the way back in 2011 by the folks at Moving Brands, and here in 2016, HP tells us that they'll use the logo for their premium products only. They also suggested that they'd also wanted to use the full "Hewlett Packard" branding on high-end machines for this year - that is, until they split the company in late 2015, and the rights to the name went in a different direction.

HP Spectre gets swanky with 18k gold and Swarovski crystals

HP has trotted out a pair of very swanky Spectre laptop computers at the New York Times International Luxury Conference. The machines started life as your standard Spectre notebook computers before designers Tord Boontje and Jess Hannah got their hands on the machines. The two limited edition notebooks were produced in very limited numbers and will be auctioned at the Cannes Film Festival in May with all proceeds from the auctions going to the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

HP’s Apple-baiting Spectre isn’t its only slick new laptop today

HP’s Apple-baiting Spectre isn’t its only slick new laptop today

All eyes may be on HP's new Spectre 13.3, dubbed the world's thinnest notebook, but if sacrificing touch and 4K are too big a compromise for you, fear not. The new ultraportable makes do with a non-touchscreen Full HD display - not to mention only USB-C ports for connectivity - in order to hit its 10.4mm thickness, but there are three other new HP models revealed today which balance their scales a little differently.

This HP Spectre 13.3 wants to crush the MacBook with extreme-thinness

Once upon a time, the most handsome Windows 10 ultraportable you could have was a MacBook running Bootcamp; now, HP wants to offer you an alternative. The HP Spectre 13.3 follows in the premium footsteps of earlier high-end notebooks from the firm, bringing some creativity to Windows computer design that has been sorely missing.

Hands-on with the (potentially doomed) HP Elite x3

Is HP inspired, doomed, or just a glutton for punishment? The company is diving back into the smartphone arena, but it's not taking the obvious route. Instead, the HP Elite x3 runs Windows 10, making it a rare beast in the first place, though HP's positioning of the device as a businessman's best friend makes it even more unusual.

HP wants to “reinvent computing” with a phone called Elite x3

The folks at HP responsible for reinventing computing have created a device by the name of HP Elite x3. This device is a Windows 10 mobile device - a smartphone - that works with Continuum. HP’s Isaac Mizrahi “smartwatch” woos ladies with crystals

Some might accuse the current mobile tech world to be a predominantly male market, so once in a while a product like this comes around to try to appeal to women. Whether it actually has the intended, or maybe even opposite, effect is still debatable, but that's not stopping the likes of HP from trying. Partnering with renowned designer Isaac Mizrahi, HP is launching the Isaac Mizrahi smartwatch, a wearable time-telling accessory that is, to be blunt, really more a luxury item than a conventional smartwatch.

HP offers students a budget-friendly Chromebook 11 G4 EE

The low-resource, low-cost Chromebooks were initially designed for use cases that didn't exactly require a lot of computing power but still needed the basics, including connecting to the Internet. In other words, while Chromebooks might not make much sense for power users, they shine bright inside classrooms. Adding to the growing roster of Chromebooks designed for schools, HP has unveiled the Education Edition or EE of its Chromebook 11 G4, with a price and ruggedness that any student of any age can handle.
