Buoyed by the success of their original Mini-Note budget ultraportable, HP are planning a second, cheaper version to better compete with the ASUS Eee and other lower-priced netbooks.  According to Jerel Chong, HP Australia’s Market Development Manager for Notebook PCs, the company is looking to develop a “a similar device (to the 2133) but at [...]

Over at PHONE Magazine the full review of HP’s iPAQ 910 Business Messenger smartphone is up, and it’s turned out to be a pretty impressive handset.  Running Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro with a QVGA touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard and the best stylus we’ve seen for years, the iPAQ 910 could honestly be considered a return to form [...]

Last week shots of what purported to be Fujitsu’s entrance to the budget ultraportable market showed up online, together with a rough Fall release estimation and pricing believed to be around the €400 mark.  Today, though, the possibility of such a device reaching consumers has been perhaps called into question; in New York Times article, Fujitsu’s senior [...]

The promise of a sub-$1k full-sized Tablet PC is a tempting one, especially with students eyeing up the latest hardware with the Fall semester fast approaching.  HP are well known for their pen-computing range, and while headlines this week have focused on the new 2730p, complete with Centrino 2 technology, its their cheaper Pavilion tx2500z [...]

Fujitsu aren’t the only company putting Centrino 2 tech into a Tablet PC.  HP have unveiled their own updated notebook, the 2730p, which replaces the popular but venerable 2710p.  With a smaller display than the T5010 - at 12.1-inches - the 2730p will arguably be a little more portable; however it may run a little [...]

A fresh bevy of photo printers out of HP today, with the emphasis on increasing flexibility and ease of use even when away from computer editing software.  The Photosmart A630 and Photosmart A530 both use 5 x 7-inch photo paper and can be outfitted with HP’s Bluetooth dongle for wireless printing from cellphones and other [...]

Over at PHONE Mag they’ve been playing with HP’s latest foray into the smartphone business, the iPAQ 910 Business Messenger.  Running Windows Mobile and packing 3G, WiFi b/g, integrated GPS and a full QWERTY keyboard, the 910 has obviously taken the “sober” route rather than ape the latest BlackBerry Bold.

Talk about accurate naming.  You may not be too keen on the particular paint-job this specific example of Voodoo’s Envy 133 notebook is sporting - I have to admit, insipid-orange it wouldn’t be my first choice of color - but you have to agree that it’s a slickly designed machine.  The images come courtesy of [...]

HP have announced an AMD Puma version of their dv5 notebook, the dv5z, which offers a choice of AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core, Turion X2 Dual-Core Ultra or Athlon mobile CPUs.  Built around a 15.4-inch screen, buyers can specify up to 4GB of RAM, a choice of ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated or ATI Radeon HD 3450 [...]

HP’s TouchSmart PC may not have MultiTouch but it’s still proving popular; despite the $1,249.99 starting price tag I’ve heard many people say they plan on picking one up.  The 22-inch high-definition desktop was meant to launch on July 13th, but according to HP’s online store the IQ504 model and IQ506 model are actually shipping today.

Hands-on [...]
