Sony's S1 Android Honeycomb tablet will apparently go up for pre-order on September 1, in the UK at least, lending further weight to rumors of a late-September launch window. That's according to internal documents shared with This is my next, with Sony Centre stores in the UK apparently readying for a significant push "with staffers instructed to know the device inside and out."

Lenovo's IdeaPad K1 Android tablet has turned up for pre-order at Amazon, priced at $499.99 though with no sign of a ship date at present. What we do get is confirmation of US specs, which are broadly in line with previously leaked listings: NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 1GHz processor, a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 300 nit capacitive touchscreen supporting 10-point multitouch, and all in a 10.4 x 7.4 x 0.52 inch chassis weighing 1.65 pounds.

Acer Iconia Tab A100 Hits Walmart For $349

More affordable Android tablets are starting to crop up, with the most recent being the Acer Iconia Tab A100. It's the 7-inch little brother to the 10-inch Acer Iconia A500, which we've reviewed and spent some time with. The A100 was slated to arrive back in May, but got delayed possibly due to incompatibility issues of Android Honeycomb with the smaller 7-inch screen. But whatever the problem was, it seems to have been worked out because tags for the tablet have been spotted today at Walmart.
