Netgear NeoTV 550 HD network media player outed

Netgear has outed their latest HD-capable home media player, the Netgear NeoTV 550, together with a range of new HomePlug AV compliant Powerline adapters delivering up to (a theoretical) 500Mbps connection speeds.  The NeoTV 550 (NTV550) has HDMI, component and composite video outputs (together with analog and S/PDIF digital audio outputs) and can play local 1080p HD files on attached USB, eSATA or SD storage or stream from UPnP, DLNA or WMP11 network sources.  Meanwhile a second version, the NeoTV 350, swaps the eSATA for another USB port and has a more basic remote. Sony A580 and A560 DSLRs pack Full HD video, auto-HDR, more

Sony has announced its latest high-end DSLRs, the 16.2-megapixel A580 and 14.2-megapixel A560, each capable of Full HD video recording and up to 7fps stills.  Both models get a new, 15-point phase-detection autofocus system, the 3D sweep panorama we've seen from the NEX-5 and SteadyShot INSIDE in-body sensor shift image stabilisation. Ordro HDV-D350S pico-projector HD camcorder outed

Ordro isn't a well-known brand for camcorders around these parts, but the company's new HDV-D350S is looking to grab some headlines by virtue of its integrated pico-projector.  The D350S records up to 60fps 1440 x 1080 video or 12-megapixel stills, but also has a removable pico-projector attachment that slots onto a mount on the top of the camera; that can project up to a 60-inch WVGA picture. Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA102YL shoots high-def underwater

Samsung's second imaging product of the morning is the HMX-E10 camcorder, a point-and-shoot model capable of Full HD video and packing a 270-degree swivelling lens.  The E10 shoots 1080p 30fps video and 8-megapixel stills, and as with similar pocket camcorders has a pop-out USB plug that's used for offloading content to your computer together with recharging the battery. Samsung ST80 WiFi digicam packs 14.2MP and 720p HD video

Samsung has outed its latest digital camera, and the ST80 packs WiFi along with its 14.2-megapixel sensor.  As with other Samsung wireless cameras, the ST80 can offload its photos via email or through direct upload to Facebook, Picasa, YouTube or PhotoBucket, and the company even throws in a Boingo WiFi hotspot account too; alternatively there's DLNA streaming support. Panasonic HDC-SDT750 3D camcorder official: $1,400 in October

Panasonic has made good on its promise to unveil a consumer-level 3D camcorder - though we did catch a glimpse of it on Monday - and the HDC-SDT750 certainly looks interesting.  In effect a regular Full HD camcorder with a new, image-splitting lens attachment, the SDT750 can shoot 960 x 1080 resolution 3D footage, or - with the lens taken off - 1080/60p HD 2D footage. Vulkano place-shifting DVR hits preorder

Monsoon Multimedia are taking preorders for their Vulkano set-top box, which the company reckons can replace not only your TiVo but your Slingbox and Roku too.  Basically a place-shifting streamer with optional DVR functionality and various smartphone clients for remote use over 3G/WiFi, the Vulkano also promises to keep pace with new STBs; the company has said they'll be releasing updates to add Google TV compatibility, among other things. New Toradex Colibri module squeezes Tegra 2 computer onto SODIMM-sized board

We might still be waiting for the first Tegra 2 tablets to arrive, but computer module specialist Toradex are looking to put NVIDIA's next-gen chipset into even smaller packages.  Having graced these pages before with an ultra-compact Atom based system on a credit-card sized 'board, Toradex are now promoting their Colibri Tegra T20 Module [pdf link], which does the same thing only with a dual-core 1GHz Cortex A9.
