AMD have announced the ATI Radeon HD 4770, the first desktop graphics card to use 40nm manufacturing processes. A PCI Express 2.0 x16 card, the Radeon HD 4770 offers DirectX 10.1 support and uses GDDR5 memory, despite having a roughly $100 price-tag.

There may be no sign of the Flip Video Ultra HD on the company’s own site, but that hasn’t stopped Best Buy from selling the point-and-shoot camcorder. A high-definition update to the original Ultra, the Ultra HD adds an HDMI output and doubles recording time to 120 minutes.
After confirming back in March that their GN40 chipset was not intended for 1080p Blu-ray playback, Intel have now confirmed that, in choosing Windows XP, netbook manufacturers are leaving customers without some of the enhanced 3D graphics performance and hardware video decoding the graphics chipset supports. The issue arises because the more advanced features require DirectX 10 and DXVA 2.0 (DirectX Video Acceleration 2.0) APIs, which demand Vista or above.
Amazon have announced the arrival of HD content through their Video on Demand service. Leaked as in development last December, though denied at the time, the service goes live today with HD titles priced at between $3.99 and $4.99. Compatible devices include Series3 TiVo DVRs, Roku’s Video Player, Sony’s BRAVIA Internet Link and Panasonic VIERACast HDTVs.
Dell have officially launched their latest 15-inch notebook, the Dell Studio 15. Outfitted with a 15.6-inch 720p-capable 1366 x 768 LED backlit display, the Studio 15 has its choice of Core 2 Duo processors, together with ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 graphics and optional Blu-ray.
