Anonymous China hacks government websites in protest

Looks like those hacktivists are at it again. Anonymous has defaced even more websites, although the legion of hackers seems to be branching out, with this attack being perpetrated by Chinese Anonymous members. Hundreds of Chinese government websites have been defaced in the usual spectacular fashion. Dumps full of emails and phone numbers have also hit the internet via Pastebin, as well as instructions by the group on how to bypass the Great Firewall of China. Read The Full Story

Hackers are criminals says EU amid tough new laws

The European Civil Liberties Committee is looking to bring down the hammer on hackers and those who would target security vulnerabilities for malicious purposes. They set forth a new proposal that would make hacking a criminal offense throughout the European Union, with offenders facing up to two years in prison. Pastebin no longer safe haven for Hackers

The folks at the favorite info-dumping site of groups such as what once was LulzSec and the still very active Anonymous have announced they'll be cutting back on so-called "sensitive" posts. Pastebin has been a fabulous place for those with no wish to be tracked to their source to post information that could lead to law-breaking activities. That's not what the site was originally made for, but what it's become rather famous for over the past few months and years. The current owner, Jeroen Vader, has pledged to cut down on the amount of uses of the site which constitute "abuse" as set by their own rules. Read The Full Story

Global Payments hacked, 50,000 cardholders at risk

Global Payments, a third-party payment card processor, has been hacked this morning, according to sources who spoke to the WSJ. The security breach puts nearly 50,000 Visa and MasterCard holders at risk. Both major credit card issuing agencies have alerted customers and asserted that their own systems are still secure. PSA: Anonymous ‘Internet Blackout’ a false lead

The hacker group known as Anonymous has been tipped to be initiating a project called "GlobalBlackOut" which would hypothetically knock out the vast majority of the HTTP internet. Though the text posted to PasteBin does appear to be an official Anonymous release, setting in motion wheels which would eventually lead to a March 31st attack on the pillars that hold up the greater web, not all is as it seems. LulzSec returns: hacks military dating website

Members of LulzSec may have been arrested earlier in the month by the FBI, but that doesn’t stop others picking up the name and running with it. A group of hacktivists calling themselves LulzSec Reborn yesterday hacked into dating website Military Singles.
