IK Multimedia, a company that specializes in guitar and music software, has just launched a new piece of software for both OS X and Windows computers that emulates the style and sound of 17 different Orange amplifiers and cabinets. Apple now selling iOS-enabled Fender Squier Stratocaster guitar

Apple has never actually sold all-out musical instruments directly before, but the company has partnered up with Fender to bring a full-size iOS-enabled Squier Stratocaster guitar to Apple's online store. The guitar is fully playable and includes the traditional 1/4-inch jack so you can still plug into an amplifier to jam, but it also includes the capability to plug directly into an iOS device. Moog unveils LEV-96 sensoriactuator concept for acoustic guitars

Moog, the company that pioneered commercial manufacturing of analog synthesizers, has shown off a cool new piece of tech. They call it the LEV-96, and it's a new "sensoriactuator" prototype that "activates and controls naturally occurring harmonics and resonant frequencies on any medium." gTar iPhone guitar lets anyone bust out a sweet riff

You’ve probably all picked up a guitar at least once and tried to play it, strumming away while trying to position your fingers and giving up rather quickly. A new Kickstarter project is hoping to create a guitar to help users learn how to play by leveraging the iPhone. The gTar features an iPhone dock at the base, and once the phone is plugged in, the app will will control the array of LEDs along the fretboard showing you where to place your fingers.
