NVIDIA has launched its latest graphics card, the GeForce GTX 690, with twin Kepler cores making it the world’s fastest, at least for the moment. The GPU company hasn’t wasted the opportunity to make the GeForce GTX 690 look the part, either, with superlatives galore: a trivalent chromium-plated aluminum frame, thixomolded magnesium alloy fan housing, and dual vapor chambers with a nickel-plated finstack.
AMD has just unveiled the next-generation of GPUs destined for ultrabooks and laptops. The Radeon HD 7000M series consists of the HD 7900M, the HD 7800M, and the HD 7700M, and AMD say that all three chips feature the new Enduro technology, designed to efficiently manage battery life by automatically switching from integrated to discrete GPUs when required.

This morning Intel let loose the final release information for their 3rd Generation Intel Core processors, also known as Ivy Bridge. A slew of new Ivy Bridge processors isn't the only thing Intel is announcing today. Slipped into the announcement of its third-generation Core architecture was the mention of the HD 4000 series of integrated graphics cards, which will replace the standard graphics currently on a huge assortment of laptops and desktops. According to Intel, the new integrated graphics chips will deliver up to double performance from the 3000 series, an impressive claim and a necessary advancement as Ultrabooks (most of which use Intel's HD graphics) become a more popular PC segment.

Intel has officially launched its 3rd-gen Core processor line-up, based on 22nm Ivy Bridge architecture, for a 20-percent performance boost while using 20-percent less power than last-gen Sandy Bridge chips. The new Core chips are built using 3D Tri-Gate transistor architecture, and include a new on-processor HD Graphics 4000 GPU for up to twice the HD media and 3D graphics performance. Finally, there are new security features for home and enterprise users.
Graphics benchmarks purportedly showing the Samsung Galaxy S III's pixel-crunching abilities have leaked, suggesting the new smartphone could easily take the top spot among Android phones and even oust Apple's iPhone 4S. NVIDIA has posted a cryptic image on its Facebook page recently to tease what is likely the upcoming GeForce GTX 690 dual-chip GPU. The dark image doesn't reveal much except the company's logo on what appears to be a graphics card and the words "It's coming." MSI has revealed its GeForce GTX 680 card, using NVIDIA's freshly announced Kepler 28nm GPU and pairing it with MSI's own Afterburner overclocking tool for squeezing out extra performance.
