Google hoping to bring Voice integration to other carriers

A quick refresher if you’re not familiar with Google Voice: it allows you to choose a US phone number to serve as your central number. Any calls to that number can be filtered and forwarded to any of your phones accordingly. Other features like voicemail transcription and SMS forwarding are the cherries on top. Google wins patent for ringback adverts

Google has just been granted a patent from the USPTO that replaces ringback tones with adverts. The idea is to replace the ringback sound you hear when you're calling someone and waiting for them to pick up. Google has announced and update for the iPhone app for Google Voice. The updated app brings a lot of new features to the smartphone when used in the WiFi Google Voice service. The latest version of the app is 1.4.0.2372 and it adds some of the features that a bunch of users have been asking for. One of the big ones is the ability to send text to multiple recipients. Google Voice in pre-launch Euro testing

Google has confirmed that its Google Voice service is currently in testing in Europe, though has blamed legislative hurdles as well as engineering issues for not yet publicly launching the VoIP service. European Director of Business Development, Jens Redmer, announced the dogfooding at the European Pirate Summit event in Cologne, Germany today, TNW reports, saying that he himself was trialling the service and was making particular use of the voicemail transcription. While similar items have been possible in the past on Android, this is the first time they’ve been available to the home user. Sprint Google Voice invites arriving early

The official name that the designer of this product has chosen is "Transducer Mobile Phone Concept" - true to conceptual industrial design form, of course.
