A third-party developer has managed to hook up his Xbox 360 Kinect motion sensor to his Google TV box in order to control it with arm and hand gestures. Yesterday Google announced a big update for Google TV, adding features like voice search and new, rebranded movie and TV guide called PrimeTime. Google has updated the YouTube app for Android, streamlining the process of discovering videos on your phone or tablet but then instantly watching them on your big-screen TV. Sony has axed support for OnLive game playback on its newest Google TV-powered Blu-ray player. Here's the kicker - the player hasn't even shipped yet; it isn't due to release until July 9. But after the company announced that it will acquire Gaikai - an OnLive rival - it seems like an infinitely understandable decision. Incidentally, Sony never confirmed any sort of OnLive partnership.
