Google Play may let you “try before you buy” soon

Android users: Would you be more likely to pay for an app if you got to try it out first? According to a new report, Google is banking that you will. A program, designed to let you try an app out before downloading a paid version, is reportedly being imagined within the walls at Google. The goal is to boost Play Store revenues, making the platform more enticing to Developers. Also, the report says in testing the apps ahead of downloading, we may save on data consumption on our carrier plans.

This week the folks behind Face for Wear have released their Android Wear smartwatch face-maker to the public. This app allows you to create your own unique face for Android Wear devices, opening the doors for creators everywhere. In a time when identity theft and information pinching is prevalent, it seems salient that you’d want something that could protect you from being tracked without your knowledge. Disconnect Mobile does just that, blocking you from being tracked or fed potentially malicious ads. Once removed from the Play Store, Disconnect Mobile came back last night. The return didn’t last long, as Google kicked them out in a few short hours.

This week Google has updated its device store with a couple of new devices. First - and perhaps most important - is the Google sales portal for Moto 360. Where earlier today Motorola’s own sales portal was the only place you’d have been able to purchase their round watch, now Google is bringing the heat as well. Google Glass has been for sale from Google before, but never through Google Play directly.
