Review of the week was ASUS’ Eee Top ET1602 touchscreen nettop, which proved itself quite capable of taking on any doubts over an Atom-based PC and throwing them out. It’s certainly left us excited about next-year’s models, which are meant to have bigger displays and improved media capabilities. Meanwhile we’re still playing with Nokia’s 5800 XpressMusic Tube; check out our first impressions.

Some of the audio kit we’ve been most impressed with this year has been the high-end headphones coming out of Sleek Audio. If you’ve been following any of the other giveaways from sites taking part with HP and Microsoft, you’ll see that everyone is encouraging the winners to think about who they’d share the $6,000 prize package with. So without any further ado, the winner is Trojanowicz Tomasz from Florida. Trojanowicz plans to use the prize to develop an advanced shoutbox that utilize visual usability with modern web 2.0 interaction and API to allow 3rd-party webapp integration. The project will be called Momo and to be released as an open source application. Congratulation to Trojanowicz and we hope to see his project in the near future. No format quarrel here, Amazon has both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Sweepstakes that worth approximately $180,000 in retail prize for Hi-def fans. Amazon announced 2008 Blu-Ray and HD-DVD giveaway today that doesn’t require any form of purchase at all but it’s only eligible to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, except residents of New York, who are 18 or older. Limit one entry per person or household.
I love free stuff, whether its pens, key chains, candy, toys, food stuffs, mini shampoos, etc… I want it, they’re free and there, I’ll take it. Anyone who says they don’t like free things they are either lying or in denial. Free things rock and that’s what makes this Japanese idea so awesome.
The Sample Lab is literally that. It’s a place you can go to get free samples of stuff. While technically it isn’t free, you do have to pay an annual $11 fee, it’s still a bargain. Every time you visit you can have up to 5 sample items.
