The “e” in the name here stands for “Entry” aka “Entry-Level” meaning that it’ll certainly be ViewSonic’s least expensive tablet on the market for the time being. This week Samsung revealed several new devices at their “Unpacked” event in Berlin at IFA 2011, perhaps the most impressive of these being the Samsung Galaxy Note. This device is what Samsung will be promoting as the ultimate single device for all of your mobile needs, bridging the gap between smartphone and tablet, with a size that’s small enough to fit in your pocket yet large enough and brilliant enough to provide you with any and all of your interactive screen-based needs. Sharp RW-T107 Android Gingerbread NFC Tablet

The people at Sharp have announced a brand new 7-inch Android tablet that will be launched in Japan complete with an NFC interface for commercial interactions. This Android tablet will only support Japanese FeliCa cards at the start, but we can expect additional card support in the near future. Android Ice Cream Sandwich Photos Leak on Nexus S

Several screenshots have been leaked to a set of Android-specific fan sites that appear to show a Samsung Nexus S device hosting the newest still unreleased version of Android, that being Ice Cream Sandwich, a version which is said to tie together the smartphone and the tablet worlds, each of them now running their own versions of Android, Gingerbread for handsets and Honeycomb for tablets. A set of factoids appears to have been delivered with these photos from a source who very well may be delivering a legitimate Beta version of this operating system to the public.

Samsung Galaxy XCover Promises Hardcore Android Action Resistance

It appears that Samsung will be joining the squad of Android device ready for rough tumbling, water dunking, and the rest. This device appears very much to be running a brand new version of Samsung's TouchWiz interface over Android and certainly will be running Android 2.3.x Gingerbread upon release. Gingerbread for HTC Desire released (for experts only, warns HTC)

HTC's promised Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the original Desire has been released, though it's not the simple OTA upgrade we're now used to. Heavily modified so as to fit the memory confines of the Desire - which had originally prompted HTC to cancel the update, only changing its mind after owner outcry - the Gingerbread ROM has been stripped of several HTC apps, the official Facebook app and even all of the wallpapers beyond the default choice. It appears that in addition to the HTC Puccini 10-inch tablet having its press images leaked today, there's another AT&T-bound device hanging in the rafters.
