NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 in March and AMD Radeon HD 6990 in April as high-end graphics heat up

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 590 video card is expected to arrive in mid-March 2011, followed a month later by AMD's new Radeon HD 6990, with the staggered launch supposedly an intentional strategy AMD is adopting. According to DigiTimes' sources at graphics card manufacturers, AMD has decided to delay the HD 6990's commercial release so that NVIDIA can't review it and subsequently change its GTX 590 design. Sony VAIO L Series all-in-one wraps touch-bezel around multitouch screen

Sony's third VAIO launch of the day is the new VAIO L Series, all-in-one touchscreen desktops packing 24-inch Full HD displays and a new "edge access" system of touch-sensitive shortcuts integrated into the bezel. Packing a choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics and a 1920 x 1080 multitouch display, the L Series also hides a Blu-ray drive and both HDMI input and outputs. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti Coming in March, GTX 590 Later

NVIDIA is getting ready to launch the GeForce GTX 550 Ti on March 15th. The video card is based off of the new GF116 chipset and is expected to be up to 35% faster than AMD Radeon’s HD 5770 in DirectX 11, and about 20% faster in DirectX 10. NVIDIA is obviously particularly proud of its new GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPU - it suggests it "pwns the gamer's sweet spot" in the press release - and at first glance the Fermi-based video card does have plenty going for it. Eight tessellation engines, a total of 384 CUDA cores, DirectX 11 support and a 52.5 billion/sec texture fill rate add up to a card 33-percent faster than the GeForce GTX 460 and up to 65-percent faster than AMD's Radeon HD 6870. NVIDIA GeForce GT 500M series GPUs get official

NVIDIA has outed its GeForce 500M series GPUs, the latest graphics chips to be found in high-end notebooks. Supporting NVIDIA's Optimus switching technology, the GT 540M GT 540M, GT 550M and GT 555M are targeted at performance users, with over four times the performance of integrated graphics and twice the DirectX 11 performance of rival GPUS, while mainstream users get the GeForce GT 520M and GT 525M. Mainstream and SOHO laptops generally aren't especially inspiring, but at least Lenovo has tried to differentiate the new V Series machines with slick aluminum casings and covers, and 21mm-thick chassis. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M mobile GPU headed for CES 2011 reveal?

NVIDIA will apparently launch its GeForce GTX 5x0M mobile GPU - based on the company's upcoming GF114 chips - at CES 2011 in January, likely as the GTX 560M. According to Fudzilla's sources, the new GPU will have 384 shaders, together with 64 texture address units and 512 texture filtering units, and replace the GeForce GTX 460M (which has 336 shaders). NVIDIA has officially launched the GeForce GTX 580 GPU, and they're unsurprisingly pretty excited about it. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 is billed as the world's fastest DX11 GPU, 30-percent faster than the GTC 480 and packing 512 cores, 16 PolyMorph engines and support for either stereoscopic 3D or triple-displays. NVIDIA GF104 Fermi update tipped to replace GTX 470

NVIDIA are tipped to be readying an updated version of their GF104 Fermi GPU, on the heels of price cuts to the GeForce GTX 470 range.  The new GF104 will apparently have eight Streaming Multiprocessors (SM), according to Fudzilla, thus increasing the overall number of stream processors in the chip to 384 (an increase of 48). ASUS has officially announced their video card based on NVIDIA's new GeForce GT 430 GPU, and it's the rather extravagantly finned but unwieldily named ASUS ENGT430/DI/1GD3.  A low-profile card with VGA, DVI and HDMI outputs, the new card has 1GB of DDR3 memory, a 700MHz engine clock and 128-bit memory interface, along with the GT 430's 96 CUDA cores.
