, Jan 30th 2012 Discuss [16]

If we told you that a man who was able to create a replica of the Star Trek Voyager starship in his apartment ended up being served divorce papers by his wife, you probably wouldn't be that surprised. But if we told you that same amazing apartment was going to be destroyed by said wife, you'd probably at least be disappointed. That is the story of a poor unfortunate nerd named Tony Alleyne. Star Wars slot car sets don’t use cars

This is so awesome. I had a bunch of slot car sets when I was a kid; I was never very good at racing them though. Mostly I concentrated on making the cars leave the track and hit the people racing against me in the gonads. That trick takes more skill than you might imagine. I would have so owned one of these as a kid. Honestly, I might order both of them now. Read The Full Story

One of my all time favorites was the Tron suit that came out around the time the film was in theaters. One of the most popular suits of all time for the company was the Batman suit that was based on the newer film The Dark Knight. Those suits have so far sold out in two releases. Read The Full Story

KRE-O construction Transformer sets hit stores

Hasbro is the toy company that was behind some of the toys that shaped my youth. Specifically, I had all the Transformers that my parents would let me have. I often broke them trying to transform them from robot to vehicle or whatever and they were a lot of fun. I also had loads of LEGO as a kid and spent more than a few days grounded thanks to the little blocks and my tendency to leave them laying around for my parents to step on. Read The Full Story

DIY cyborg costume gives you Borg eye [Video]

, Feb 18th 2011 Discuss [0]

As DIY costumes go, Ryan Sturmer's cyborg masquerade mask is all kinds of awesome. Constructed from the salvaged - and still functional - parts from a digital camera, the mask uses the zoom lens as an eyepiece (complete with a Terminator-style red LED) and reacts to breathing to run through some suitably Borg-like movements. Video demo after the cut Read The Full Story
