GameStop begins selling PS3 for $199

Although Sony hasn't officially cut the price of the PS3 since last fall, GameStop has taken it upon itself to slash the cost of the system to the magic sub-$200 mark. The retailer now lists the 160 GB version of the Sony console as being available for $199.99. That is $50 less than Sony's manufacturer's suggested retail price of $249.99. GameStop ‘DLC warning’ now obligatory in California

Thanks to a class-action lawsuit against the largest games retailer in the US, GameStop locations in California are now required to post a warning on used games that details limitations concerning free DLC and online subscriptions that may be otherwise advertised on the box. The warnings must be posted on all applicable individual game boxes and must warn consumers that they may have to spend additional money on downloadable content or fees if it is a used game. But for GameStop, it wasn't all good news, as the company reported a decline from the previous year, leading to total 2011 profits of nearly 80% of what they were in 2010. GameStop confirms will have PlayStation Vita midnight launch

If you absolutely have to be among the first to pick up Sony's newest game device, head to GameStop. The retailer will be offering midnight launch events at locations throughout the country. Select stores will open at 11:00 PM on Tuesday night, then as the clock strikes midnight will begin giving the Vitas to eager early adopters.
