ASUS ROG “Republic of Gamers” SWIFT monitor brings NVIDIA G-SYNC with WQHD resolution

PC gamers are on the receiving end of a new monitor ASUS has revealed at CES, the ROG SWIFT PG278Q monitor. According to the company, this is the first WQHD-resolution monitor that uses NVIDIA's G-SYNC technology, and along with that comes a very high refresh rate and some other perks aimed just at gamers. In case you've somehow missed the news, Sony just revealed some details about the highly anticipated PlayStation 4. We're still waiting for the good stuff, but we've just learned the details on an important question: backwards compatibility. Today Gaikai's CEO Dave Perry confirmed that the Playstation 4 will not have native backwards compatibility with the PS3, at least not in the usual aspect.

Epic games, the developer of Gears of War, recently notified its forum members that its website and official forums had been hacked. With all the news about security breaches, it might be simpler to start announcing who has NOT been hacked. Not as serious as the attacks on Sony and Codemasters, the attackers were only able to obtain users email addresses and encrypted passwords. Fortunately no credit card numbers are stored on their sites, so none were obtained during the breach.

PlayStation 3 Hacker George Hotz Donates $10k to EFF, Mocks Sony in Process

If you'll take the time to remember back a few days ago, a lawsuit between Sony and PlayStation 3 hacker George "Geohotz" Hotz ended in an agreement that Hotz would never again tinker with the game console or any other Sony product ever again. During the suit, Hotz had thousands of dollars donated to his name in order to hire legal defense so that he might have a fair shot at defending himself against the army of legal beans Sony had/has working for them. Now that the suit is over, what happens to the $10,000 or so left over? Only Hotz knows for sure.
