Samsung Series 7 700G Gamer Laptop Announced

When you're getting prepared for Diablo III which, for the record, we still expect to be coming out sometime before the end of 2011, you've got several things to think about. One of these things is: how will you earn enough money in the real world so that when the game is released, you'll be able to call in sick for several months? Second, and MAYBE more importantly, what kind of computer will you be playing the game on? Samsung has your answer - and you can play other games here too - with the Series 7 Gamer.

Android Games for Freddy Krueger, Night of the Living Dead, and Halloween Coming Soon

Android Games for Freddy Krueger, Night of the Living Dead, and Halloween Coming Soon

Android has come a LONG WAY in a just a couple of years, especially when it comes to mobile applications. Ease in developing for a single device on Apple has kept developers from moving to the Android operating system basically since its inception due to the relative difficulty in creating apps that work on a multitude of devices running the same OS. That time has all but ended, if you ask me, giant games and names such as the following three continuing to pave the way for the biggest and the best: In-Fusio presents Night of the Living Dead tower defense game, Freddy Krueger's Wallbreaker, and Halloween Pinball HD.

Quake 3 Video Game Challenge Laid Down with “Scrolls” Name as Prize

Quake 3 Video Game Challenge Laid Down with “Scrolls” Name as Prize

So there's this guy by the name of Notch, aka Markus "Notch" Persson, he's one of the original creators of the massively popular game Minecraft. Notch's developer group Mojang is currently in a trademark dispute with another group of developers by the name of Bethesda Softworks. The latter has threatened to sue the former because Mojang's new game by the name of "Scrolls" apparently doesn't seem far enough away from Bethesda's "The Elder Scrolls," a trademarked name they currently own. What Notch of Mojang here is suggesting is that a team of his best "warriors" and a team of Bethesda's best "warriors" go head to head in the first-person-shooter game Quake 3, the winner dropping their side of the dispute.

Nintendo 3DS Price Cut to $169.99 Today

Nintendo 3DS Price Cut to $169.99 Today

Whenever there's a price cut of such a magnitude for a device of such importance as the Nintendo 3DS, one would expect there to be a new device coming out OR for the company selling the device in question to be in some sort of big trouble. What we're looking at here instead is a price cut before a brand new color combination is released for the casing on this device. This leads us to believe that either Nintendo had always planned to lower the price to this point immediately before the Flame Red color release OR both the color combination and the price point are now in place to make a renewed move for higher sales in the face of a sinking traditional games market.

Rovio Launches Angry Birds Mooncakes and Barrage of Additional Products

Also, incase you were unaware, Angry Birds Seasons' next update will be "Moon Festival," again in celebration of the same holiday taking place in China this Fall. The mooncakes are available in Chinese confectionary stores now in custom male/female bags which are reusable then by the average super-chic kiddo who might want to bring their home-made lunch to school in bright red. Counter Strike Expansion “Global Offensive” Launching inside 2012

One of the most popular 3rd party modifications of a game in history, Counter-Strike has now been a legitimate stand-alone game series now for almost 10 years. What began as first-person shooter PC game Half-Life was transformed in 1999 to a game of terrorists and counter-terrorists, one side's objective to set and protect a bomb, the other's side to disarm the bomb. This game is set to have a new sequel in 2012 in the form of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, aka CS-GO.

Was Facebook Holding Game Improvements Back for Google+ Release?

Earlier today we were graced with news from Google Senior Vice President Vic Gundotra about the fifth tab at the top of the Google+ social network, that being the Games tab, it rolling out with a total of 12 games to start including the smash hit Angry Birds, Zynga Poker, and Bejeweled Blitz. In response, it seems, tonight we're to understand that Facebook has just finished several features ready for release today, this announced by Jared Morgenstern at 7:21pm Central Standard time. This release is separated into three sections: A new game ticker, More room to play, and Bookmark your Favorites. One can't help but wonder if these updates were being held back in wait for Google releasing their inevitable games tab, much in the same spirit of the "Awesome" announcement of Skype / Facebook integration days after the initial release of Google+ in Beta mode.

Nintendo Possibly Taking a Loss on Every 3DS Unit Sold

Nintendo Possibly Taking a Loss on Every 3DS Unit Sold

Yesterday many things were revealed about Nintendo, facts about their abysmal earnings this past quarter, the fact that they had "few hit titles," and of course, most importantly, that the price of the Nintendo 3DS had been slashed to $170 from its original $250. Upon further analysis of the earnings call just hours ago, Nintendo's CEO Saturo Iwata appears to have revealed that the gaming company may be taking a loss on every 3DS unit sold with the cut. While some reports have Iwata saying that Nintendo's price cut for the 3DS was necessary and would improve the company's balance sheets this year and next, others have reported that he, in one set of words or another, said that Nintendo is now taking a loss on ever 3DS unit sold.
